Pros: Great location, nice staff, good kids beach.
Cons: Needs some updating.
Summary: We stayed 8 nights in the King Kamehameha in August of 2002. I found an Internet family room deal which gave us two adjoining rooms, one with a king bed, and one with two doubles, for $190/night. This was competitive with the rates I was getting for a ... read more

Pros: Cheap. Location near boat pier.
Cons: Rundown, compares poorly to Royal Kona

Pros: One of the cheaper hotels on the Big Island. In town.
Cons: Awful parking. Traffic makes it hard to leave property by car.
Summary: I'm a kama'aina which means (resident) so I get a kama'aina discount to stay at the King Kam hotel. I think the regular cost is about $110 for a double.

Pros: Location
Cons: Parking, run-down, Staff attitude, cleanliness, no towels.
Summary: Just spent a week at this hotel, it was run down and outdated, I'd give it 2-2.5 stars max. They charged $7/day to park, rooms weren't cleaned until 3pm daily, never had towels at the pool. Staff had an attitude. Hotel was overrun with locals on the
