This is the way Bagels and Toast were meant to be enjoyed.

by Naomi7835, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Mar 28 '03
Pros: Extra wide slots, power cord storage, a warm button, and removable crumb tray.
Cons: None
For a few months now I have been out in several stores checking and looking at several types and prices of toasters. The Oster 4 slice toaster that I have had for a few years now has not been working very well. It only browns on one side of the bread and...

I love this toaster - revised 10-29-05

by osagirl , Oct 26 '05
Pros: Solid/heavy, toasts evenly, great bagel feature, warmer nice, crumb tray included.
Cons: $50 price tag, but worth it.
As suggested, I'm adding a few more details to my original review. The bagel feature on this toaster allows you to toast only the cut (inside) side of the bagel without toasting the outside. The slots easily accommodate large bagels. The ...

Definitely does the job, and is versatile too.

by drmikenyc , Aug 18 '09
Pros: Form and function both a pleasure, from simple use and cleaning to perfect bagel making.
Cons: Very little to complain about - tough to get out small pieces, maybe, but typical.
Scary, all the reviews seem to be from 2004-5. Maybe that means they are still working? :-)This is a great toaster, period. Usually, every 5 years or so, as the mechanism or elements died on my drugstore or department store same-old (usually ...

Not a very good toaster

by tj1371 , Feb 25 '06
Pros: Re-warming feature works OK.
Cons: Doesn't toast evenly; doesn't toast consistently.
Having tired of toasters that didn't do a very good job over the years, I decided to buy a more expensive one. Kind of figuring that 'you get what you pay for', I wasn't going to buy one under $40. While looking around, I came across this toaster at ...

GOOD Everyday Toaster

by miller1611 , Jan 16 '06
Pros: Warming setting, easy clean up
Cons: Occasionally cooks uneven
Updated April 26, 2006 My husband and I are big fans of Kitchen Aid products, especially hand held utensils, so I was excited to get this toaster for Christmas. I know, a toaster, BUT it was on my list, "a kitchen aid toaster". My husband ...

KitchenAid KTT340 Toaster - Just Toast

by cldoss , Mar 12 '04
Pros: It works fairly well and is easy to use. Nice clean look. Wide slots.
Cons: Does not always toast evenly. A little over priced.
I had been on the search for the 'perfect' toaster for several months. I had bought and returned two different toasters before purchasing the KitchenAid. I had been through the 'cheap' toasters that just didn't work and was in hopes the KitchenAid ...

KitchenAid KTT340 Red Toaster

by cvcrowe , Mar 16 '09
Pros: Attractive, easy to clean, wide slots, room to store cord
Cons: Metal piece on top gets dirty easily
I purchased this toaster for my husband as a house-warming present when we were dating in 2004.  Since then, it has moved twice with us and still works and well as the day I bought it. The toaster is compact (10 inches long, 8 inches ...

Reliable, dependable, and makes great toast

by chiliqueen , Mar 17 '07
Pros: Toasts evenly, bagels come out perfectly done
Cons: Sometimes frozen breads require extra toasting, warming feature ineffective
I spent years in graduate school making do with a five-dollar toaster. After moving into my first home, I decided it was definitely worth the splurge to upgrade to a toaster worthy of my homemade breads. I was given a KitchenAid 2-Slice Toaster as a ...

Great For Bagels AND Toast

by idahobaird , Mar 03 '09
Pros: Bread is supported on both sides for toasting. Bagels come out perfectly. Very well made.
Cons: No negatives discovered. This is a very good toaster at a moderate price.
We're a "toast-most-of-the-time-bagels -now-and-then" household. We we using a toaster oven to make toast and it took FOREVER. So, we started looking at toasters and most felt like junk. The levers wobbled and they looked cheap. Then we ran across the ...

best home use toaster I've seen
by clintnvlv ,Jan 23 '05
Pros: Can get in different colors.
Cons: Some colors are hard to find in-store.
I bought this toaster because I think the name says it all. It toasts bread well. The bagel feature is amazing. The warm feature is okay. Have been using this toaster for about a year now and love it. So happy I threw away my last $10.00 toaster. I could not be happier.

Unsatisfactory, esp. for the price
by bpollen ,Feb 21 '05
Pros: Cool to touch exterior; styling (if you like modern).
Cons: Uneven toasting; takes a long time to toast.
I bought this toaster at Target for about $50.00 in Jan. 2005. It had the wide slots (2), cool to the touch exterior (white).

I used it a number of times. It took forever to toast regular bread - both at room temperature and from frozen. Then when it FINALLY got the toast toasted, the toasting was very uneven. Always lighter on one side, and parts of each side were dark, while parts of each side of the bread were very light.

It seems to me that the heating elements were just too far away from the bread, when the bread was regular sized. Maybe it does better with thick bread or bagels. I don't eat those, so I didn't try that.

It was a disappointment, since this was pricey, compared to cheapo $15 toasters. I just wanted a plain toaster that would toast bread up fairly quickly and fairly evenly. This Kitchenaid toaster was not up to the task. I returned it.

I really wanted to love this one...
by aarealskei ,Nov 05 '03
Pros: It's a Kitchen Aid - meant to last
Cons: The ones I tried were all defective.
I have always heard great things about Kitchen Aid and I currently own a couple of their products. It has always been my understanding that their products are made to last for years to come. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to see if my KTT340 would last, as the first one I purchased was defective. I returned it to the store and brought a second one home - again with very high hopes. I ended up returning that one, as it, too, was defective. I even took the liberty of contacting Kitchen Aid directly to insure that I wasn't doing something wrong, but even they assured me that the unit was defective. In the end, the manager of the store where I purchased my toaster ended up checking all the KTT340 toasters on sight only to discover that they were all defective. I don't know if this was just a bad batch or if I should steer clear of this model toaster. To say the least, I was very disappointed, as I really had my heart set on a Kitchen Aid. Perhaps my opinion of this toaster will change if I can ever find one that actually works.

Broke down after 2 years
by dublinrain ,Jan 15 '07
Pros: Attractive design, compact, cool to the touch.
Cons: Poorly designed sliding shelf, not durable, uneven toasting
I bought this toaster to replace my cheap $10 Toastmaster, which held up for more than 10 years [it was still working when I tossed it in favor of this name-brand toaster]. The sliding shelf that holds the bread in place is made of a very thin, soft and flimsy steel. After only 2 years of use, the shelf became bent and no longer remained attached to the sliding mechanism; and it could not be fixed. The shelf is hooked onto the slider by 2 small prongs that ultimately broke off. I am surprised that KitchenAid would sell a piece of junk like this.

Toasts Unevenly
by jetb ,Jan 28 '08
Pros: Looks nice
Cons: Looks aren't everything, it toasts unevenly on either side.
I bought this toaster because I assumed that the Kitchen-Aid brand would work flawlessly, especially for the price you pay...

It doesn't toast the same on both sides, it always seems to toast the outer sides twice as much as the inner sides.

Also, the slow rise feature doesn't seem to work because it springs up fast like any other toaster I have owned.

I'm very disappointed that it doesn't make perfect toast for the price I paid for it. It is definitely going back to the store.

KitchenAid Toaster, not worth the extra money...
by wkdf ,Mar 02 '04
Pros: It toasts well.
Cons: Price. Unit didn't operate as manual stated.
I bought this toaster a couple of weeks ago figuring with the KitchenAid name and a 50 dollar price tag it should be flawless...it worked about as good as a 10 dollar toaster...the unit was also defective, it's supposed to have a slow rise toast eject, it almost shot the toast to the ceiling...you have to turn it higher than you would think to make the toast or muffin brown...other than that it looks good and works well, again no better than a 10 dollar Proctor-Silex would...it has a bagel toasting feature that kinda works and a keep warm feature that works well...
