Pros: Toasts to perfection, WARM/FROZEN/BAGEL features, easy clean and stylish! Cons: None
While window shopping in one of our more upscale china and crystal shops I wandered into their kitchen appliance section. There on the shelf were some very nice looking toasters. Then I remembered the toast launcher/incineration machine sitting on my...
Pros: Stylish, extremely functional, high quality, duh its a kitchenaid! Cons: Larger than cheapo toasters.....um...it doesn't cook eggs?
Somewhere along the line of 20th century american culture we americans were tricked by appliance makers. Yes that is right we were tricked into thinking that if an appliance is dirt cheap and is semi-functional then that is the appliance for us. Quality...
Pros: Looks nice, long slots for toasting large slices of bread Cons: It does NOT toast very well at all.
I had been eying this toaster for a while when I walked through this one store we always go into. I like this toaster because it looked nice, it had a bagel feature, a warm feature, and I really liked the idea that you could toast large (long) pieces of ...
Pros: Stylish design, toasting options Cons: not toasted evenly on both sides and heavy power cord
I just recently purchased a Kitchen Aid KTT570 Toaster. This is the toaster that has 2 long slots that can accommodate up to 4 slices of toast, etc. I purchased this toaster based on the reputation of Kitchen Aid products as well as their styling. ...
Pros: Easy bagel setting. Easy to read digital display. Super-easy cleaning of crumb tray. Cons: Pricey, although the prices have dropped since we purchased it 3 years ago.
Okay, I'll confess: when my husband came home with the new toaster three years ago, I almost ended a 25 year marriage right then and there. A toaster that cost just under $100???? "It's just TOAST!" I cried. I was so wrong. First of all, it makes ...
Pros: Consistent results, heavy duty construction, deep slots, fast Cons: Pop-up is a bit loud, no extra lift feature for small pieces of bread
I recently purchased this model after doing my own consumer testing of several different (in the same price range) models: Cuisinart, T-Fal, Oster, and Krups. I toasted single pieces, full loads, bagels, different bread types. I tested each feature on ...
Pros: Toasts a variety of foods. Up to four peices at a time. Easy to clean. Cons: This product is large and can take up counterspace
The Kitchen Aid KTT570 4-Slice toaster is perfect for toasting poptarts, bagels, bread, frozen waffles and toast. With the three easy settings of frozen, bagel and warm you can choose the setting that is just right for the item you wish to toast. Another ...
Pros: Beautiful to look at on the counter Cons: Extremely poor at making toast, despite promises to the contrary on the package
Imagine my disappointment when I got this beautiful toaster unwrapped and discovered it couldn't toast nearly as well as my 8-year-old $15 Toastmaster. 1st test. I put in a single piece of bread and tried toasting it. It came out very light, but ...
If you're interested in conserving energy I would not recommend this toaster. by eldoni ,Dec 02 '03
Pros: Heating elements look very evenly lit. Cons: Very wasteful of energy
When you want to toast one or two slices of bread all of the heating elements are turned on. This is not true with all the other four-slice toaster I've tested. KitchenAid, a company I like very much and use many appliances made by them, should go back to the drawing board to make it possible to turn off the side not being used. They should be aware of the waste of electricity and should do something about it.
Style with mediocre performance by inamorato ,Jun 25 '04
Pros: Looks good, toasts bagels well Cons: Inconsistent toasting, noisy, doesn't eject well
I gave up my perfectly functional two-slice relic from the 70s because I wanted a four-slice model. I started with a $300 Dualit that nearly caught my kitchen on fire when the heating element timer didn't disengage during a test run. Next, I "economized" with the $100 KitchenAid with its sleekly modern design.
I soon learned that the "Easy Lift" lever with the "Soft Rise" feature was just marketing lingo for the loudest, most forceful ejector of toast I've ever seen (for two slices), yet the KTT570 can't manage to lift four slices of typical toasting bread past the top of the unit for removal.
When using the "bagel" button, the KitchenAid toasts bagels very well. Other items, though, are toasted more on one side than the other (not using the bagel button, of course) but I didn't find that to be a problem. What does take some getting used to is the difference between two and four slice toasting. For my preferred amount of browning, I set the unit at "4" for two slices, at "7" for four slices.
Overall, a toaster at this price should work better than this one.
A toaster is a toaster is a toaster...I think by effe ,Jan 17 '04
Pros: Good looks and that's about it. Cons: Over-priced, uneven browning.
It's a good looking toaster and that's about it. It doesn't brown four slices of bread evenly. You have to use it (mine) like a two slice toaster. Bagels come out alright, haven't tried to toast two whole bagels yet. I'm saving that thrill ride for the weekend! The writing was on the wall - we should have figured it out when the clerk at the local Williams-Sonoma tried to push off a returned toaster to us. Who returns a toaster? Answer: Someone who figured out that a $20.00 toaster makes toast just as good as a $80.00 toaster. Wow, imagine all the bread - less stylishly though - that you could save, buy and toast.
LOOKS LIKE A PORSCHE BUT THE INSIDE IS LIKE A YUGO by susanmccauley ,Jan 27 '04
Pros: Loved the look Cons: Too high priced. Made with cheap parts. Didn't toast evenly when it did work.
Made in China and you can tell. Lever won't lock down anymore. My husband and I have only used it about 90 times in the past 2 years we have had it. Kitchen aid said that since the 1 year warranty was up they couldn't do anything. I really wished it would have worked. Looked so good, but it has to function. Don't waste your money here. Even Kitchen aid won't back their products. They just change the model. It seems as if they are all bad.
Pros: Style, Color Choices, Heavy Duty Cord, Defrost Setting, Bagel Setting Cons: Burns Toast on the lowest settings
I bought this toaster for the KitchenAid quality and the color (cobalt blue). I also bought a black one for my mother.
She had trouble with the toast being toasted to dark, almost burnt, on the lowest settings. I returned hers and exchanged it for another. She experienced the same problem with the new KitchenAid toaster.
I hadn't yet tried toast in my toaster, just bagels which turned out fine, so I decided to try toast. On my first attempt, the toaster cooked the toast to a medium on setting "2". Then I put two more slices in on the same setting. This time it burned the toast completely. Upon lowering it to the number one (lowest) setting, it overcooked the toast again. This happened on all THREE different KitchenAid KTT570 toasters; mine, my mother's, and the one I exchanged for her. The range between the toast settings needs to be improved drastically
Pros: Best of the toasters in the price range Cons: None
Very well designed. There are no projections in the toasting chamber so all crumbs fall into the crumb tray. Has a cool touch exterior. Toasts bagels and breads perfectly, but you have to study the type of bread i.e. light bread or thin slices a lower number than heavier bread or thick slices.
