by badbonz0007 badbonz0007 is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Home and Garden, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Jul 26 '08
Pros: Very powerful and does an excellent job.
Cons: If you think this one is quiet start laughing now, it is not.
My wife and I purchased this five speed blender quite a few years ago for around $100. I know that we have seen them as low as $85 but we have also seen them as high as $150 at Sears. When we saw this one on sale for $100 we thought it would be a nice ...

KitchenAid KSB560 5-Speed Blender a.k.a. Mr. Smooth

by bigskeptic Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Apr 28 '08
Pros: Powerful, easy clean, large jug, good looking
Cons: Base is heavy
*** As with all my reviews, this is a Cruelty Free product from a maker that does NOT use animal testing.*** My son drinks a smoothie almost every day after school. Our old, inexpensive blender worked ok. Even though the motor was powerful enough to ...

Could be a great blender with better jug design.

by alpenmicho , Jun 05 '07
Pros: Crushes all berries and ice amazingly
Cons: Jug develops cracks at base. Have had to replace it once due to cracking.
Update September 5th: Well, time did tell. The bottom of the jug of the second blender I purchased is full of the cracks. Not sure what caused it, but I hardly crushed any ice with this one. I'm returning it tomorrow and will look at a different ...

Quality blending, improved features

by lopton , Nov 27 '06
Pros: Powerful, Well constructed, Good design
Cons: Slightly Expensive
I am a person who loves reviews, who reads lots of them prior to buying. I read reviews on the KSB5 blenders on this site and finally settled that this slightly newer model overcame the weaknesses of some of the other models and met all of my needs. Read ...

A powerful blender

by jjsharkman , Jun 18 '08
Pros: Very powerful, soft start feature, nice heavy base.
Cons: On the loud side at higher speeds.
We needed a new blender, and since I had such good luck with their old design, went with Kitchenaid again, only to find out this model has a substantially stronger motor, something us guys seem to notice first. I've had it for about a year now, and ...

SMOOTH CHOICE

by crazy_tiff , Apr 10 '08
Pros: Pluse, 5-Speed, Nice size of Jar.
Cons: Money and it takes up room because it is big
When I was living at home a while back, my brother would always get out our old blender and try to make a shake with it. We didn't have a pulse button where the machine would just have little spurts where it would turn on and off really quickly. One day ...

Very impressed with this blender for the price!

by alliehc , May 26 '08
Pros: Blends well, ice crushing feature is excellent
Cons: Difficult to clean under blades
I had an older (15 year old) Kitchenaid blender which I liked ok. When the motor blew out a few months ago, I contacted Kitchenaid and they offered me a discount on a new Kitchenaid blender with a satisfaction guarantee, so I decided to give it a try. I ...

A Really Great Blender

Pros: Works great and easy to clean
Cons: Heavy and noisy
My husband and I registered for this blender for our wedding. We compared several blenders at the store, and we're really glad that we picked this one. First of all, this blender actually works! It can puree vegetables, crush ice or frozen fruit, ...

Avoid this product! Our Jars Leaked from first use.

Pros: Powerful Good blending action Easy to clean (except for the leak)
Cons: Jar Leaks Makes a Mess
We have been extremely disappointed with this product. We bought this blender on the advice of our local specialty kitchen store retailer, who is very reliable and gives great service. For that reason we give them the bulk of our business even ...

Pros: Customer Service, Price, Ease of returning, Funtionality of Blender
Cons: It is very loud. Dont use while watching TV
I purchased this blender in the onyx black about 6 months from HH Gregg in Concord, NC. It was a little higher priced than previous blenders, but I was tired of buying 20 or 30 dollar blender only have to have to replace them a few months later because ...

by singleila , Jan 31 '08
Pros: Easy to clean.
Cons: Easy to crack.
I bought my new KitchenAid 5-speed blender at a local department store. It was on sale, and I had a 30% coupon, so I took the chance before reading any reviews. I loved using my new KitchenAid 5-speed blender the first 5 times I used it. It crushes ice ...

Pros: Makes Drinks SO SMOOTH!
Cons: A little loud, but not a biggy

Blender Carafe Has Faulty Design

by flalphadog , Dec 28 '07
Pros: Strong motor, great at breaking up ice cubes into slush.
Cons: The blender jar or carafe leaks and cannot be tightened.
The motor is strong and as a blender is works pretty well, But it has a major design flaw. The polycarbonate carafe (jar) has a blade assembly that is permanently attached and when it loosens and leaks, as it inevitably will, there is no way to fix it. ...

Polycarbonate Jar unsatisfactory
by joandon001 ,Oct 17 '07
Pros: Powerful, easy to clean, works fine
Cons: Polycarbonate (plastic) jar does not hold up and cracks.
We bought a Kitchenaid KSB560 about 6 months ago and use it every day. The motor is fine and it blends very well. However, the polycarbonate jar has cracked and it leaks. We had this problem with an Oster blender too (which the Kitchenaid replaced). We really want a glass jar to replace the polycarbonate one, but can't seem to find one. Kitchenaid should make a glass replacement jar for this model. We'll buy it if they do. If you want a blender for regular use, be sure it has a glass jar.
