I have had problems with all of my high-end Kitchen aid appliances.
Their products have major design defects. Door hinges brook on both my microwave/wall oven and dishwasher. In fact, the dishwasher hinge brook twice within one year. Customer service refuses to make good on this. They expect us to pay for this repair again. Very poor quality, not what you would expect for this price point. I will never purchase this brand again!

Bought this unit (Black, not SS) and installed it ourselves. This is unbelievably quiet compared to the 12 yr. old dishwasher that replaced it. It also washes well when the instructions are followed, but we haven't tried baked-on stuff since I don't realistically expect any dishwasher to handle that without prewashing. So far, this is about as quiet as a relative's high-end Bosch for much less money...
