This is an amazing dishwasher. We have the new generation, where the stainless steel face is even on the control panel - very stylish! The dishwasher is quiet, quiet and quiet!

It has a separate rinsing arm for the stem/glassware...dishes come out amazingly clean.

The previous review regarding the Chinese parts is ridiculous, this is a well built and smartly engineered machine that will clean the toughest dishes with ease! We are very happy with the product.

This is regarding our product experience with the Kitchen aid dishwasher KUDK03ITWH that we bought recently from Lowes.

I regret to say that we were purely shocked when our so called high end dishwasher failed to clean the dishes properly from the Ist day itself. My heart ached when the dishes came out with residues. This, even after the fact that the utensils were rinsed and only then loaded in the dishwasher. On subsequent days, we have done everything we could at our end. We put enough dishwasher detergent every day, use the high temp scrub option and run a heavy cycle with sani rinse. Doesn't matter. The dishes always come out dirty. To top it, the control panel started peeling from the Ist day itself as well!

We called the customer service and reported our problem. The answer we got back was READ YOUR WARRENTY. NO MORE NO LESS. Never seen such rude customer service response before.

Cons: Undersized replacement motor does not clean! Bad upper rack roller design.

Replacement motor bought from Sear's parts was half the size of the original! No pressure, and doesn't clean the dishes without pre washing! This was an expensive dishwasher initialy, and I cannot believe they would gyp me so on a replacement motor! Even though this one is still running, I am tired of coffe cups with dried sandy particles on them and having to pre wash everything!

I'm buying a new washer, and it will not be a KitchenAid! Once chance for brand loyalty with me, and KitchenAid with your undersized replacement motor; YOU SHOT YOUR WAD!
I will not buy another KitchenAid!
Also, the upper rack wheel design is just bad engineering! Had to replace the upper rack wheels a couple of times already.

Pros: Cleans beautifully, quiet, attractive, and energy efficient. Good value.
Cons: Takes a couple of hours to finish a load of dishes.

Purchased this machine recently and it cleans just beautifully! It's also attractive and very quiet as dishwashers go. I'm surprised at the number of negative reviews. It makes me wonder how people could have such different experiences with the same dishwasher. To check out it's cleaning capabilities, we loaded it with really dirty dishes with dried on food, and they all came out sparkling clean! I'm puzzled by the other reviews here. Perhaps they got lemons.

Pros: It is stainless steel on the inside so that's a plus.
Cons: In an expensive dishwasher you shouldn't have to put up with cheap Chinese components.

We bought a Kitchenaid KUDK03ITBLO dish washer from Lowes and told the salesman that we didn't want one either made in China or with major components from there. The warning sign was the label "Assembled in the USA" printed on the box rather than "made in the USA", which we saw on other dishwashers. Upon turning it on its side we discovered that the electric motor (and probably pump as well) were made in CHINA.

I won't go into my rather long list of reasons not to buy Chinese products, one of the more minor being the lack of product quality based on junk I've bought in the past made in China.

We will return the dishwasher to Lowes and do more research on dishwashers. The old Maytag will temporarily go back for now. Its motor (1997 model) is made in the US. The dishes in the bottom rack clean well but the upper arm which is turned by water flow doesn't appear to turn now. It may be clogged so I'll look at it before I put it back in.

I LOVE this dishwasher. My dishes come out great. I make sure I keep the rinse agent container full all the time and I use Cascade liquid detergent. I don't know why there are so many negative reviews. I also love that you can't even hear it running. I wonder if people who aren't happy with it have tried using the rinse agent consistently and if that would make a difference for them. Also I always make sure i have run some hot water through the faucet before turning on the dishwasher. My old one heater the water so I didn;t need to do that but I read somewhere that with these new energy star ones you should do that. All in all I am very happy with the performance of this dishwasher.

I wish I had called a repairman on my 10 yr old Maytag instead of buying this new Kitchenaid. I need to prewash dishes, since this new unit just does not remove all dried food off the dishes.

Cons: Phenomenally bad customer service and technical support in the field. 

I have a Kitchenaid Dishwasher purchased in March of 2007 that has been serviced 12 times for the same problem. Kitchenaid has been unresponsive, unhelpful, and unwilling to replace the unit. The local guys have been very diligent trying to solve the problem, and have consulted with the manufacturer repeatedly. All the manufacturer has done has been to attempt to bait and switch by changing repair people, causing each guy to start over from scratch, and today on the phone claimed there has been no contact with the company when in actuality I've listened in on a conference call where the Kitchenaid team told the local guy absolutely nothing helpful, reading from a script. Stay away from this product.
