Pros: Appearance; functionality; variable settings; reliability; name brand reliance Cons: Top will stain; crumbs easily fall out from underneath
OK, so maybe it can't takeoff from the counter but you can put any product that needs toasting in it and set it on "automatic pilot" and not worry about a crash and burn. As a newbie to epinions who wanted to practice and add to the reviews I was ...
Pros: Ultra cool design. Consistent results when making consecutive toast batches Cons: Pricey.
The Kitchen Aid KTT261 is an amazing toaster. I've had about 3 toasters over the last 5 years, (A White-Westinghouse toaster oven, a Black and Decker wide slot, and a Toastmaster disaster) and have retired each of them because of poor performance. I'm...
Pros: Bagel, reheat, & frozen buttons are Great features. Extra long slots. Cons: The plastic housing had imperfections, finished edges were uneven. Toaster died after one year.
I was so happy to get my Kitchen Aid KTT261 Toaster after my Krups toaster bit the dust. I read the reviews on this site and had decided on the Kitchen Aid. I got the white one since I already had the white Kitchen Aid stand mixer, food processor &...

kitchenaid KTT261 Toaster failure by wa9cbt ,Feb 07 '07
Pros: This is the best toaster that we have ever owned. Cons: The KTT261 has a control board by Robertshaw Company. The board is poorly designed.
The KTT261 has a control board made by Robertshaw Company. The board is poorly designed. When the lever is pushed down, the element switches on and an E-core solenoid then magnetically holds the toast down until a thermal sensor at the other end of the toaster registers that the appropriate thermal profile has been delivered to the toast. When the toast will not stay down, or stays down permanently, this boards is faulty. The controller is at fault and Kitchenaid and repair centers will not touch the repair. WHAT A SHAME, since it was the best toaster we ever owned!! I plan to try to repair the Robertshaw controller board (not for the faint of heart or inexperienced). Maybe . . . .

We thought long and hard before spending $90 for this toaster. But now, both my husband & I realize that's it is well worth the money. It is a beautiful toaster, inside and out. We have complete confidence that it will continue to perform as PROMISED for a very, very long time! This is the KING OF TOASTERS!
