Pros: Sleek and stylish, high venting power, strong lights. Cons: Vulnerable control panel, unsightly support braces, lights get very hot.

Very quiet and strong
by johnnycorn ,Nov 19 '09
Pros: Fit and finish, very quiet, controls are easy to use. The lights are very bright. Cons: you can see the grease cups but that is not the end of the world.
I own a Kobe hood and have for about 3 years. I read the one review and totally disagree so I had to write my review. First ,The fit and finish is great! The hood does not come with a bracket but rather screws into the cabinet. Do not know what that person is talking about. TWO, The buttons are fine and easy to use. They feel quality. THREE, the hood looks great! No seams or weld marks. Four, I agree that the lights are bright but they do not get any hotter then any other light bulb. The light bulbs are easy to replace and lasted me about 2 years. I bought the bulbs at Walmart. 5 bucks for a two pack. In addition, This hood is the quietest I have ever owned and it works very well. It is a fantastic hood!

Kobe CH2230SQ
by tool-up ,Dec 04 '09
Pros: Quality seamless stainless steel. Quiet mode, low, med and high (over 800cfm).. 2 year warranty. Cons: Instruction manual lacks detail, way to vague.
I purchased this online sight unseen, well first impression was this is a quality built range hood. The finish matches our Kenmore Pro range perfectly. This 30" unit is a hefty 50 pounds. I looked at some other stainless steel hoods locally and didn't like the seams and cheapo build along with their weak motors. This unit looks and functions like a pro unit all seamless..Made in Japan so you know it will last, comes with a two year warranty. The two lights work really well..It came with instructions that lacked detail on how to install the hood. It showed a drawing of a punch and hammer to remove the knock out plugs, but trust me on this; You Need To Drill Them Out. This is done with the six screw cover removed to access the inside of the hood. Easy to install with the right tools and a helper. I used (4) 3/16"x 2.5" bolts with (8) fender washers just to be sure.
