Pros: - Weather proof casing - 2 megapixels resolution - Windows or Apple
Cons: - none
Designed for the great outdoors, the DC5000 is Kodak’s answer to the camera you take anywhere. It’s built around the DC290 mechanism but with heavy-duty casing and oversized controls so you can use it with gloves on. It’s also water-resistant but don’t...

Great for the outdoorsy person!

by williamparrish , Jan 08 '02
Pros: Rugged, easy to use, good pictures
Cons: A bit heavy, buttons somewhat stiff to use
I've had my DC-5000 for about 6 weeks now, and I've shot about 100 miscellaneous shots in all resolution and compression modes. So far, I'm really satisfied with my camera. The quality of the shots I have taken is good - not quite as good as my Olympus...

Kodak DC5000 worth it

by rpmgang , May 15 '02
Pros: Large buttons, easy navigation, great pictures, easy to use.
Cons: Eats batteries, small LCD screen, eats batteries, slightly heavy.
Camera is worth price, even if it's heavy. Takes great pics (5X7 printed on correct paper are nice), CF cards are cheap, zoom is kind of weak but OK- hard to get the family in the pic because composure takes some trying. No mpeg, so what. All opening...
