Kodak EasyShare Z700 Digital Camera - Cheap and It Shows

by dkozin dkozin is a Lead on Epinions in Electronics, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10, Sep 22 '05
Pros: Low price, good optics, features, uses two AA batteries, SD cards, easy to use
Cons: Slow operation, slow memory card writing, bulky, no image stabilization, battery life, small LCD
I recently purchased a K odak EasyShare Z700 4-Megapixel digital camera with 5x optical zoom. The camera has above-average optical zoom power and has other positive ingredients: it is powered by two AA batteries and ...

Dependable, fun to use, easy to learn.

by choklitmilque , Oct 28 '06
Pros: Photo quality, size, features
Cons: lack of image stability, lack of zoom ability while in video mode
While reading this review, please note that I picked this camera up in a pawn shop. While I think it turned out worth the risk, I did pay far less than it would have cost me new (approximately $110 Canadian). Let me get it out of the way and say, ...

I like it!

by keyrse , Jan 27 '06
Pros: Price, "feel", rechargable batteries are a must, zoom is sufficient
Cons: LCD is a bit small
I'm upgrading from a 1.3 mp, so this is quite an upgrade for me! I spent a lot of time weighing the c340 vs the z700 and found trading 1 mp for better zoom to be the best trade. It is simple enough for my teens to use, and has enough features for me ...

BAD for pictures of PETS and animals (and infants?)
by pokey12 ,Mar 23 '06
Pros: Small, Easy to charge & connect to computer
Cons: Double Flash causes animals (and some people) to close their eyes for the picture
In my short experience with this camera, I found that it had an annoying flash feature which could not be turned off easily. (It probably cannot be turned off.) The flash will always rapidly flash twice. It happens so fast, it is difficult to notice. However, animals (including some people) that don't know to keep their eyes open during a picture will close their eyes in time for the second flash, which is when the actual picture is taken.

This feature would also be bad if you've got a family member with a tendency to close their eyes for pictures.

Like I said, I didn't even notice the problem until I realized every time I took a picture of the cat or dog, his eyes where always closed or half-closed.
(I have taken a many photos using the flash with other digital and film cameras without this problem.)

I LOVE my Z700
by rickysrswife ,Jan 21 '07
Pros: Easy to understand, vibrant clear pictures, great zoom, good video & sound, compact.
Cons: None
I received mine Christmas 2005, and still use it at least 5 days out of the week. The camera itself is easy to learn and compact enough to take places easily. The picture is produces are always vibrant, clear and detailed. The video capture mode works very well, especially for a still photo digital camera, and it can pick up sound well (even very low sound comes out good). The LCD screen is big enough to preview your photos without a question. It has several different settings to accommodate to where you are taking your pictures. Overall, this is truly a great point & shoot camera.
