Poor quality and short lived blender
by docroc ,Jan 01 '07
Pros: Good power and nice blades Cons: Leaky seals! Floods the counter! Wear boots.
The Krups brand name drew me to purchase this blender. I have happily used coffee products from Krups for years. This blender is not deserving of the Krups name. The main blade shaft seal failed(leaks like crazy) after only 6 months of light use. Prior to that, the jar/base seal was leaky. It is clear plastic and easily disappears in drawers and dishwashers. Krups should carefully re-engineer this product. My next blender will be a tried and true Oster.

Pros: blends well Cons: lost the gasket. can't find a replacement
Seemed like a nice blender. Nice style, blends smoothies VERY well. Cleaning the blades/gears required removing the gasket. Gasket small and clear and easily lost. I searched the web for replacement part to no avail. Went to a local appliance repair place that sold me a gasket they said would fit. It only fit after I shaved the thing in half, but now it leaks. Spent a lot of money on the blender originally, and not looking forward to buying a new one. So for now we have to make our smoothies very quickly before we flood the counter.

VERY DISAPPOINTED
by nhconsumer ,Sep 26 '04
Pros: nice looking appliance Cons: not dependable, poor customer service by company.
I have many appliances that are Krups and found the brand to be reliable. Therefore, when our first born child started on solid foods, I needed a blender that I could depend on daily to puree homemade babyfood, not a difficult, demanding job right? Wrong. The blender was exclusivley used for pureeing mushy veggies and fruits and in 3 months, the thing just died. I plugged it in and nothing...no humm of the motor, no sick sounding buzz, nothing! I would have immediately returned it to the store, but of course, with my luck the store was "going out of business" and wouldn't except anything back. So I call the company and they advise that I either have to drive to the nearest service center (out of state) or mail it and pay the shipping, plus, wait for weeks til they could get to it. Wrong answer! Tried to go to website but that is "out of service" now! What is a hungry baby to do?! I guess buy a new blender and make sure it isn't a KRUPS.
