I bought this Krups Caffe Duomo Expresso Machine and Coffee Maker combination 10 years ago. It was my second Krups coffee and espresso maker. I had one earlier in Europe on 220 volts and needed a 110 volt version for the U.S. I love the one I had so ...
Pros: Good strong espresso
multiple cappuccinos at once
durable
Good frother Cons: Ugly
Broke after 6 years
But, this has been a very good espresso maker for us. We had it for 6 years until it broke last weekend. We made cappuccinos in it every day for those six years, and loved them. The cappuccios we make are not weak, in fact despite using starbucks beans, ...
Pros: fast easy to clean Cons: touchy buttons leave unplugged for safety
I purchased this coffee and espresso machine one year ago and after the first week of frustrations I still love it. Since it was new to me, I often tried to froth the milk too soon, or not long enough. But now after 2-3 lattes and cappuccinos a day it ...
Pros: Makes a real espresso shot. Wicked steamer for cheap. Cons: Too much plastic and poor measuring marks on the coffee maker side.
I'm house sitting and the owners of the home have this Krups combo unit. Well, I've used it to make coffee plenty but never made a latte in my life, although I love to drink them. As a coffee maker this Krups is fine, although I do have a couple ...
Pros: An easy espresso maker, and a good coffee maker Cons: Lacking clear cup markings on the carafe and reservoir, no auto-off, no timer
We requested this machine as a Christmas gift, as a result of seeing the reviews here. So far, we're very pleased. Our goal in getting it was to have a way to make frothy specialty beverages every once and a while, which we have, and it does a great ...
Pros: Long life if kept clean, makes great quality espresso, fits on the counter top. Cons: Fragile espresso carafe, must clean the frother frequently to avoid clogging.
I received this machine four years ago as a gift from my husband (back then, boyfriend). I told him that all I wanted was an espresso machine that would fit in my small apartment. He didn't think I'd ever use it, boy was he WRONG! I made Lattes ...
Pros: looks ok on the counter. Cons: Poor product that makes mediocre coffee, watery espresso and has no possibility for improvement.
The Krups Cafe Dumo is a poorly made mass produced product that lacks the artistic appeal that many gourmet coffee drinkers look for in a kitchen machine. My wife bought me this machine for my birthday this summer, after two uses I returned it to the ...
Pros: Dual capability, makes good coffee, easy to use, nice frothing capability Cons: Poor crema, makes only 1.5 espresso shots, takes too long to depressurize between shots
I've owned a Caffe Duomo for nearly 3 years and have been pleased with the coffee-making side of thi ...
Pros: Compact, attractive design; makes a helluva good cup of coffee Cons: Lightweight plastic casing feels a little cheap; switches easily flipped on by accident
I've been wanting one of these for years. And finally, with an extra $100 in my pocket, I said enough's enough... and I got one.
Me and coffee:
I love the stuff. It's a bad habit, I know. But there are so few vices left in...
Pros: Compact, reliable, a great value Cons: Too easy to turn on accidentally, and too small for large households
We're a small family of two who occasionally entertain a few friends at a time -- and our small apartment kitchen has a limited amount of counter space. Most of the gourmet units that allow you to make coffee as well as cappuccino and espresso are simply...
Excellent for the Price! by mdhoneybee ,Jan 28 '07
Pros: Great coffee, cappuccinos and lattes. Lots of great features, especially the steamed milk! Cons: Cheap plastic casing, watery espresso
I received this as a gift from my parents 3 Christmases ago. It has been excellent for the price. The coffee comes out great, but the lid covering the water reserve has a large clearance requiring that I move the entire machine every time I pour water in. That's just a minor inconvenience, though. The espresso side has worked well, too. It does make slightly watery espresso, but I like cappuccinos and lattes; these taste fabulous with this machine. The machine casing is cheap, though and I've had to replace the coffee filter holder twice. Overall, it's a great machine that has lasted me through three years of medical school (that's a lot of coffee)!
Pros: Easily recyclable Cons: Burned taste, potential fire hazard, not heavy enough to stop doors
Burned taste unavoidable. If I were a lawyer, I'd say Krups screwed up royally by having the switches so easily turned on by mistake. Oh wait, I am a lawyer.
Pros: It looks good Cons: Overhead clearance Dripping burned taste
As a previous reviewer I always wanted one of these, Addicted as I am to both coffee and expresso. Well I got my wish for Christmas and as they say, be careful what you wish for!
It is attractive. If I just wanted to look at it it would be fine.
Good points - It looks good
Bad points - You must have massive clearance above the unit to put water in. (I don't) I have to move it every time I put water in. Even for the expresso.
The coffee carafe drips every time- no matter what I do.
The coffee is good if you drink all of it immediately. If it sits in the carafe even 30 minutes it tastes burned.
Net effect - I have to move the thing , fill it, clean up the drips, then hurry up and drink the coffee before it burns. Not the coffee experience I want.
