Pros: A very big, powerful, and quiet blender. Cons: A little fussy to re-assemble after cleaning.
My Oster died. It was never great, but it did the job for several years. But, after the fourth batch of margaritas in an evening, it finally said, "Enough." It was clear I needed to find its bigger, stronger, (more expensive) relative. And I found ...

Pros: Quiet and looks nice. Cons: Does not blend as well as cheaper ones.
To start, I was looking for a blender that would do heavy duty mixing -- blend whole fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, etc. I bought this one because it sports 1 1/3 HP -- 1000 watt motor and claimed to mix well. I compared it to my old cheap Oster 450 ...

Pros: none I bought it because of the motor but it doesn't seem very powerful Cons: heavy small opening in lid ice crusher doesn't work key pad flimsy only 5 speeds
I bought this blender hoping it would do the job with the more powerful motor (1000 compared to 500 on other blenders) and ice crusher function. However, when I put in five ice cubes, they just jumped around like popcorn in a popcorn macine. ...

Great blender
by yoshi23 ,Dec 08 '06
Pros: Really easy to clean. Much quieter than other blenders. Protection again vibration "creep." Cons: Frequently overheats on top speed and cuts off. Messy to pour (aren't they all?).
This is a really well designed blender worth the extra for serious users. The 60 oz capacity is great. It comes with a glass not plastic jug. As noted, it's unusually easy to disassemble and clean. The speeds are well chosen (a pulse option and an ice option, plus 4 speeds). Very quiet, especially at speed 1 (low) which is all you need to remix a smoothie you set aside in the fridge. Another great feature is that it has protection against vibration "creep" (which causes so many blenders to unscrew from the base while they run).
On the other hand, it smells like burning oil on top speed and a heat sensor often causes it to turn itself off (it resets in a minute or so). Another negative is the bad pour "spout." Inevitably it drools down the side of the blender when you pour. Finally, the top latches (locks) on, which is totally unnecessary and makes the top harder to clean (extra nooks and crannies on the cover because of the screw on design).

Best blender!
by an_epicurian ,Nov 27 '06
Pros: quiet, smooth, easy to clean Cons: a bit pricey, but using 20$ coupon @ BBB is a bargain!
We recently bought this blender and it is one of the best! we always do extensive research before making any purchase. I like to make smoothie by using frozen fruit and this definitely does its job well! the noise level is indeed minimal compared to the others! worth every penny so far!

Good product - continues Krups tradition of good engineering.
by cboatner ,Dec 11 '07
Pros: Powerful, contents blend easily and the unit disasembles easily. Cons: Container locks tight but not snug on the base.
I purchased this product to blend juice, fruit and fruit pulp. The KB720 continues the Krups tradition of solid engineering and is a major upgrade over over more common 400-500W blenders. The wide container enables blended contents to move more freely, and it doesn't hurt to pull 8.3 AMPS to do so! The unit operates with surprisingly little noise and disasembles easily for cleaning and overall does not present any glaring inadequacies in design or performance. My needs are limited to blending juice, fruit pulp and soft fruit and I bought this unit 15 years like my Krups coffee grinder.

Terrible Blender
by baron50 ,Nov 14 '07
Pros: Looks Nice Cons: Failed quickly, doesn't work,
After 18 months, it is stuck in the pulse mode. Runs two seconds each time a button is pushed and then stops. Glass jar separates from the plastic base very easily, thereby leaking the contents all over the floor. Poorly built, badly designed, little documentation. When it worked it had a very powerful motor, but those days are gone. It almost went over a cliff after the base came loose and leaked over the floor during a dinner party. I really researched this one which proves looks are no guarantee as to mileage.

Krups KB720 5-Speed Blender
by rickilynn ,Mar 09 '08
Pros: I purchased this product because of the brand and the attractive presentation. Cons: Poor product engineering. Overpriced. Paying for the attractiveness and perhaps the manufacturing of this product.
Purchased when first came out paid 200. Was unable to perform usual product research prior to purchase due to limited product information. Should have waited. Originally wanted a Vita-Mix and should have just gone ahead and purchased. Problems. . . .Cannot always tell if product has been engaged due to the delayed rev up time after pressing buttons. Product may have a short as buttons do not always engage the blender. Also, depending on the item being blended food can become lodged under the blade causing the food not to get processed. Terribly disappointed.
