Pros: 42" plasma at affordable price. Great Picture. 2 yr. warranty. Cons: 1 HDMI input. Nothing else.
I did my research first. I knew that I needed about a 42" screen for the distance the family would be sitting from the TV. The Panasonic, LG, Samsung, Sony, and Hitachi were some of the higher rated TV's when you read the user reviews. I had about ...

Pros: large picture is easy to see Cons: tv broke in the first year, customer service is incredibly POOR
The TV is not really exceptional, the picture is large and nice if you are just getting into a large screen, but when I go out to bars and see what else is out there, I am not impressed with the LG picture quality when I get home. I am writing this ...

Beautiful picture
by bwbenz ,Feb 03 '07
Pros: Nice picture, great look! Cons: Only 1 HDMI input, poor scrolling through the inputs.
This is one really nice TV. I bought mine when it first came out and the price has come down significantly, but I am still very happy with my purchase. The picture is crisp and amazing with high contrast. The sound is OK... much better than others we compared to, but you find you will have to bring it up to 50% or better depending on the input. Also, there is no way to eliminate from the menu of inputs so you have to scroll through every input, DTV-CADTV-RGB/PC-HDMI/DVI-AV1-AV2, even if you have only two of them in use. Also, it appears that the use of S-video limits use of the other AV1/2 inputs. If you're considering HD picture don't mess around with the component inputs, and don't spend $100 on a store cables, go online and get an HDMI cable for under $25!! It makes a huge difference.

Loud Buzzing Noise
by ddykho71 ,May 04 '09
Pros: pretty good picture, looks nice on the wall Cons: BUZZZZZZZ, some mild burn in seems to appear periodically..I notice it sometimes more than others.
I purchased this tv 1-year old from a friend. It has since developed this really loud, annoying 'buzzing' sound that comes from the tv. I actually just went to circuit city and the 50" LG plasma they had in-store was doing the same thing. I'd be careful if you are at all picky with sound. Even to someone non-picky, the buzz is very noticeable.

TV broke after 2yrs 5months.
by kwagner33 ,Jan 02 '09
Pros: Easy to use (when working). Cons: TV broke after 2 yrs 5 months. Terrible customer service. Two year warranty only.
Purchased the LG 42 inch plasma tv 42PC3D in August 2006. Watching tv on New Year's Eve 2008 and all of a sudden heard a loud "pop" noise and no longer had a picture, just sound. Called LG customer service and was told there was nothing they could do for me since my warranty expired in August 2008. Gave me a local repair number and told me to have a great day. LG=Life's Good HA! For who I ask? For who?
