My wife and I recently purchased the DLE0442 Electric Dryer. Overall it operates very well and we were satisfied with it. After a few weeks I noticed what looked like residue on top of the dryer that was left from liquid detergent that had dripped onto the dryer. Upon trying to remove the stain I discovered that it was actually embedded into the porcelain finish. The liquid detergent had eaten into the porcelain. Upon contact with LG I was informed that yes it can happen and was not covered by warranty. I am very disappointed that a product meant to be around laundry products cannot withstand spilled liquids. Never had any problem with all previous dryers.

I bought this dryer nearly a month ago, and after making sure I like its features, and its resiliency, I can without a doubt say this is the best dryer I've ever owned. The drying times and efficiency are fantastic. I'd definitely buy this dryer again.

I bought this dryer to go with the WM0642H washer I purchased a few months prior. I purchased this dryer because I didn't need a stacking set and LG brand was the only way to go. After reading the consistently really good and really bad reviews on all of the other major front-load brands, LG only ever had really great reviews. I love the large capacity and how quiet it is. The sanitize cycle is great that heats the load and the control panel is very easy to use to select what temperature, drying cycle and options you want. The time remaining defaults to the estimated time for most loads, but then adjusts as it senses the moisture level remaining in the clothes and shows the time left for that load; it seems very accurate. I have noticed a significant decrease in the time it takes to dry my clothes, partly because of the increased dryness from the washer and because of the efficiency of this dryer. LG thought of everything with this dryer, even the beep to signal the end is nice and not annoying. I would definitely purchase this dryer again.

LG dryer purchased in 2007. Dryer designed to send most lint through exhaust. The approved vent cap (for the outside) has a animal grate under the flaps. The lint kept clogging the grate, even though it was checked daily. Thermostat eventually blew. Took 3 weeks for replacement to come from Korea (on backorder). LG customer phone service needs improvement, it can be very frustrating. New dryer was unusable for 3+ weeks. When part was replaced we cut out the grates in the approved vent and removed some of the flaps. (exhaust system meets their design specs in the book). This seems to have fixed the problem. LG needs to re-evaluate their venting as it does not work well with US vent caps. Also you cannot use dryer sheets in this dryer (sales did not mention this, but we saw the warning in the manual before we used it, don't use liquid fabric softeners in the matching washer, it adds to the soap buildup problems).
