Pros: Variety of settings& features, large capacity, buzzer, noise, drying rack, gentle, modern attractive construction Cons: Bugs in setting up cycle, rotary dial function, expensive, weak steam, non-specific manual
I've had this dryer for a little over a year now. This is my first experience with LG and with a dryer that steams. I think maybe my expectations were set a little high with the wonder of what a steam dryer could do. But, I was replacing a 25 ...
Pros: Easy operation, attractive, huge capacity, multiple features. Cons: Pricey. Lint filter is inside the drum.
When our Kenmore washer broke for the second time, we decided to replace it and our dryer with a set. The set we chose included the LG DLE7177 dryer in white, with a pedestal drawer. The dryer is an attractive one, stylish and modern. With the ...
Pros: Quiet, powerful exhaust system, easy access lint filter, dampness detector Cons: None at this time.
Bought a LG dryer to replace a 12 yr Kenmore dryer. I thought it was going to be a simple pick until I read a few reviews while checking the products finding, dryness settings, wrinkle care, drying racks, extending dry times, dampness detection and ...
Pros: Fast, minimal wrinkles, rack-dry feature. Cons: Lint trap could be improved.
After raving to my family and friends about the SteamWasher, this dryer was actually given to me as a (very generous) gift! I have not been disappointed. There isn't too much to say except the clothes come out dry and barely wrinkled. The drying cycle ...
Pros: Wonderful when it works. Cons: Keeps breaking down and less than a month old.
June 4, 2008 we purchased the LG DLEX7177WM dryer along with the matching washer. I haven't had a new washer and dryer in 15 years so I was excited to get a front loader. When we brought it home it worked wonderfully. The clothes dried quickly with few ...
Pros: I love the sensor dry although I usually add a little time. Cons: Price and requirements for using the washing on lower floor.
After looking at many different dryers and reading reviews, we decided on this model along with the optional pedestal. It had all the options that we wanted along with the front load w/window. The only thing that I was disappointed in was the fact we were told that the washer should only be used on a lower level because the spin is so fast that it vibrates too hard anywhere else. We live in a doublewide mobile home so that eliminates getting the matching washer.
Pros: Quite, capacity, speed Cons: none really other than cost as they are expensive.
I looked hard at all the reviews online of this and other front load dryers and also the consumer reports magazine reviews. After looking at Kenmore, Maytag, Whirlpool and others we finally settled on this LG. After about one month of use we are very happy. What used to take 90 minutes to dry 10-13 standard towels can now be done in 55 minutes due mostly to the LG washer that spins everything so dry.
I have yet to perfect using the steam aspect so I will reserve rating it for later. I only tried it once and that was mostly to see if it even worked at all so I am not sure I used it correctly. The dryer is VERY quite and has enough cycles, temps etc for most anything I could imagine. Plus the dryer light is nice as is the stainless steel tub. It is a first class product.
Very cool, works as advertised by cleancut1 ,Nov 19 '07
Pros: appearance, quickness, wrinkle-free Cons: it's quite large
I'm happy with my recent purchase of this electric dryer in red.
First, the capacity is huge. Second, it's a wonder to look at. Third, it's very easy to operate, with intuitive but very slick/cool controls. Fourth, and most importantly, it dries (but not over dries) clothes quickly and with minimal wrinkling. I love how customizable the options are while still maintaining standard selections and ease of use.
Pros: Nice idea if it worked Cons: Unit is completely unreliable
Bought top of line gas unit from BEST BUY in July of 2007. By December unit not functional, wouldn't heat up. After two months of wrangling (Dec 10th to Feb 5th) warranty company finally approved "Lemon" status and has offered us a new machine. Will NEVER by an LG again!
very disappointed in LG and Sears by pharmacist1234 ,Feb 19 '09
Pros: looks good, plays tunes Cons: broken after 4 months. steam fresh cycle worthless!
We bought the washer/dryer set in October. The dryer quit drying after only 4 months. We called LG and went thru their list of possible fixes, including cleaning the sensors. Sears guy couldn't get to my house for a week, then was even later than the 4 hour window allowed, then banged around like he was in a barn, not working on a $1100 piece of electronic equipment, and said he would have to order 2 new thermostats, which would be in about 2 weeks from now!! The Steam Fresh option doesn't work AT ALL! I tried it on 3 different items. I got better results throwing a wrinkled item in my 20 year old dryer with a wet washcloth!..and that only took 10 minutes, not the 20 minutes required for the new model. Very frustrating!!
