Pros: Racks offer quite a bit of space for larger dishes & cooking items. Cons: Normal cycle lasts 2 hours & power scrub adds more time w/o much more power.
After our Whirlpool dishwasher leaked a sudsy ocean on our kitchen floor a week before Thanksgiving, 2008, we went shopping for a new unit. After shopping around for the best fit for our needs, we decided on the LG LDF6920ST and purchased it from ...
Pros: None Cons: Sets too low, flatware trays are a horrible design, spray jets are too close.
This is the worst dishwasher I have ever had in over 40 years of marriage, and I have had several. The design is terrible, it sets too close to the floor. The turning jets set almost against the rack so there is no room for the food particles to wash out. All of my glasses feel gritty after they have been through the cycles, even with the extra rinse cycle. The flatware trays let your knives fall through the bottom and are constantly getting hung when you pull the racks out to unload. I would put my old one back in but I bought all stainless appliances and it doesn't match. I have started hand washing my dishes again. With all the new technology you would think they could do better than this. I hope this helps someone decide what not to get.
Pros: nice design Cons: LG service and their inability to help out...
so, we were looking for a good solid and (hopefully) built in the u.s. dishwasher. we got this one - attracted by the nice design and rebates, etc. boy were we WRONG! [this unit, btw, was made in korea...]
after 2 washes, the unit became in-operable... first, they sent a repairman... then, the repairman said that the needed part for this brand new unit was discontinued (!!!) the repairman also noted that he had receive a number of calls re. similar LG units that had broken after a few uses. (!!!)
then they took 2 weeks to send a replacement. but, unfortunately, the people installing it (from LG) were morons who plugged the ground to the live wire... (one knows: black-black; white-white; green-green). unit 2: in-operable.
2-1/2 more weeks for another unit... this time, the "installers" didn't show up... installed myself. and so far its working. but, for how long?...and, to add insult to injury... when i called re. getting reimbursed for the uninstall/installation of the broken unit and the materials needed, they wanted to jilt me on that!...
Pros: It is Quiet. I think that is because it isn't doing anything. Cons: Don't but at Home Depot they won't help at all.
Don't know how this can be called a dishwasher..It doesn't wash or dry dishes. Have contacted Lg they have sent a repair man twice. He tells me that it is working as it is supposed to. But agreed that the dishes were spotted and not clean. I can't believe it isn't supposed to wash or dry dishes. Am being told to use Jet dry (I do) and to turn my hot water heater up (it is at 130 degrees) have a circ system for instant hot water and I really don't want to chance scalding my grandkids by turning it up. Water stays in the bottom of the tub at all times if you don't wash every day it stinks. Lg says to wash a fulll load Lg just keeps finding excuses. I will tell you that I wish I had my old 13 yr old GE back in my kitchen..
Don't buy this dishwasher! by nebraskagirl ,Nov 09 '09
Pros: Nice style. Good looking. Very quiet. Cons: Terrible job cleaningWorthless silverware basket,Very odd design on the rollout bottom rack .
We've had many types of dishwashers over the years, but never tried LG. Styling is cool, and I hadn't heard anything terrible about LG, so we bought this one 2 weeks ago. Bottom line? We are going back to the store to pick out a new model, new manufacturer today. The cycle takes forever - 2 hours plus. I had to use the Powerscrub and the extra rinse cycle to get the dishes not quite as clean as my old GE dishwasher. Yesterday, I ran the cycle 2 full times - that's 4 plus hours of washing, folks - and I still ended up with some food in my top rack containers plus handwashing my Reidel wine glasses. The utensil rack is so poorly designed that I can't even fit my flatware in the slots, tines up or tines down, it doesn't matter. The bottom rack falls off of the wheels everytime you pull it out to unload, and you have to try and fix that every single time. So, I am back at. Maybe a KitchenAid this time? Frankly, anything would be better than this expensive pretender.
