Looks good and is quiet but does not have great dish racks. Does not clean dishes as well as I would have thought for the money spent. Then about six months in it does not clean the dishes at all. We have had service people out 4 times now and the thing still doesn't clean dishes. LG service is few and far between so plan on hand washing for a few weeks.

We needed to replace our dishwasher and bought the LG without checking reviews which was a mistake. We liked the features of the larger tub and adjustable rack. We have had the dishwasher for 6 months and I would give anything to get a new dishwasher. The LG is terrible. It runs for over 2 hours and does a terrible job at cleaning the dishes, even when I rinse them off well in the sink beforehand. My stainless utensils now have a weird tarnish. I have to rewash about 30% of my dishes due to food being on them after a cycle. It is as if the dishwasher does not filter the water and rinses with dirty water. Besides not cleaning well, the design of the racks is very poor. The tines do not line up, so it is difficult to load cookie sheets and baking pans. The top rack design is such that glasses cannot be stabilized well and often fall over during the wash. DO NOT BUY THIS DISHWASHER. You will regret it.

The dishwasher is very quiet, can hardly hear it at all. I have had the experience with the steam vent on the floor, I have a tile floor so it is not a big deal. The stainless finish needs to be cleaned every time I touch the dishwasher. I am having a problem with dirty dishes, it seems every time I empty the dishwasher, I take out at least one dirty dish. I have to practically wash my dishes before put them in. I have tried every cycle, normal, power scrub, & soak, with no better results. A authorized service representative came out today to look at it, said I had to make sure there was always rinse aid in the machine, that it was vital to it working correctly. I filled my rinse aid & will see if that is my problem. So far my noisy, 10 year old dishwasher, that didn't need rinse aid, cleaned my dishes better than this new one.

I have never left feedback before, but felt it was necessary, if only to prevent someone else from making the same monumental mistake of purchasing this unit.  After an excrutiating 5 service calls to fix our first lemon which did not clean dishes due to not desolving the soap (though the dispensor opened properly), we finally were issued a replacement.  That solved all the problems and worked great for about 6 months, but has recently failed us again and requires more service.  Now the motor is making a ton of noise and appears to be failing.  Additionally, the racks are already begining to rust and the amount of water remaining in the bottom is disgusting.  I WISH I HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS DISHWASHER!  I should have gone with my gut and bought the Bosh. 

Do yourselves a favor...don't even consider this dishwasher!  When two out of two fail, that is a pretty good indicator these dishwashers suck.

WILL NOT PERFORM IT'S INTENDED PURPOSE - WASH DISHES

This dishwasher replaced a 15 year old Maytag; the Maytag was only replaced due to all the appliances being upgraded ( and I use that word very lightly) to the Stainless steel look. I have never had to rinse or pre-wash the dishes loaded into the dishwasher until now. This thing will only wash "clean" dishes.
Also, if we leave the dishwasher partially loaded with a few dishes for just a few hours, or from breakfast to dinner, as soon as we open the dishwasher, the whole house stinks like mold real bad. This has never happened before with any other brands, and we've had several. Wish we had our old Maytag back, but we gave it away since it was still working just fine.
DO NOT BUY THIS LG PIECE OF SHHHHHHHHTTTT.

I agree with the earlier reviewer - I would return it if I could. The installer had difficulty with the hoses. Initially it was venting steam onto the floor and now it doesn't dry the dishes at all. As mentioned, plastic items are particularly a problem. You have to shake off the items and then put them on the counter to dry outside the dishwasher. I've had a service person out once with no results at all. Most importantly though, it smells. There is water in the bottom constantly and it smells like mildew. I would not have anticipated these kinds of problems with an inexpensive brand, but at this price it is inexcusable.

We purchased an LG LDF8812ST dishwasher to match our other LG appliances.  It was fairly pricey and overall we are not impressed.  Washing ability is mediocre, and it doesn't really dry dishes at all anymore.  Might have a heating element that isn't working, but it displays no error code. It's feature list and styling are nice, but it's hard to say much good about it when it seems to fail at both washing dishes and drying them.

Pros: I like the big size of it, the light inside, hidden control buttons.
Cons: Doesn't clean or dry dishes well

I am a believer that you get what you pay for....not in this case.  This dishwasher underperforms to what it claims to do. This is touted as a high-efficiency dishwasher.  Unfortunately, the amount of water I use rinsing and pre-washing dishes negates the low volume of water this dishwasher uses.  It doesn't wash my plates or plastics well.  Also, I underload this dishwasher in order for it to do a decent job.  Again, not very efficient.  I agree with a previous review that the steam escaping from the bottom of the tub is annoying especially since we have hardwood floors.
