  • Good Vibrations

Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Nov 6, 2005
Pros: Washes extremely well, compact, no vent required, mechanically reliable
Cons: Vibration and touchy balancing on old floors

Summary: I bought the LG WM3431 to replace a washer dryer combo. Since I live in a third-floor apartment with no washer hookups or venting for a dryer, a combo unit that runs on 110v current is the only solution for me. Plus, once you get used to having it all ... read more

    Pros: I have nothing
    Cons: Havning to use it

Summary: My wife and I moved into a town home recently that has one of these. "That's convenient," I thought, as I pondered how much time would likely be saved by having the washing and drying take place in the same machine. Well, folks, I was SADLY mistaken. ... read more

Pros: Can use as a washer only, dryer only or both.
Cons: None, just change your "old" mindset on how to do laundry

Summary: I bought the 4.0 cu ft LG combo washer/dryer in July 2012, and I absolutely LOVE it.  I read the instructions *and followed them*, as it is a totally different laundry mindset/methodology. &nbs p; Rather than spending one or two full days eac ... read more

  • Let me guide you: this is a DO NOT BUY machine.

    Sep 9, 2012
    Pros: all-in-one convenience, small size
Cons: most wrinkle-inducing laundry machine, very noisy, low capacity, way too long full wash cycle time

Summary: I am stunned others have written with praise for this machine. Its shortest cycle is 3-4 HOURS, it is noisy (spin sounds like a turbine), has low capacity, and delivers the most wrinkled clean cloths I've seen ever. Even compared to our teenage son's ... read more

  • 2nd machine - nothing but trouble

    Mar 15, 2012
    Pros: None
    Cons: Serviced required often
No way to clean lint so it builds up and prevents drying

Summary: I am on my 2nd one of these machines (the first one was replaced by my service agreement after 14 months of trying to fix the machine - they replaced it with a new one). When they work well, they work amazing well!! Unfortunately, they are NOT designed ... read more

  • Reported flaws turned out to be virtues

Pros: Very gentle on clothes. Clothes come out smooth and fluffy and dry fully on removal.
Cons: Long cycle but ideal for overnight loads.

Summary: I bought a LG WM-3431 16 months ago because I live in an apartment where the lease prohibits washers and dryers. I was disgusted with the messy laundry room and decided to quietly violate the lease and get my own washer. The LG WM-3431 seemed to be the ... read more

Cons: It does not dry properly, smells like crap. Takes hours for one small load. worthless.

Summary: My fiancée an d I were totally excited to move into our gorgeous modern apartment and I noticed there was only one laundry unit and it's in our bedroom (all in one washer dryer WM3431H) the entire interior smelled oddly the very first ... read more

Summary: My wife and I live on a boat in Alaska.  I have had this washer/dryer unit for over 1 year now and use this to do all our laundry.  Im very pleased.  The drying isnt as fast as a standard dryer, but works great if you follow a few simple ... read more

  • Pay $200 every 8 months for "maintenance"

Rated a Somewhat Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Sep 5, 2009
Pros: Works as described in other posts- but not for long!
Cons: Catch 22- the needed recurring maintenance not covered under warranty.  $200 to clear a vent.

Summary: It's great when it works, but it turns into a WASHER only in less than a year. Costly "maintenance" not covered under warranty. Get the washer only, you'll be schlepping to a laundromat to dry anyway.I read the reviews here and thought I was prepared for ... read more

  • How to self-service when it begins to not dry properly

Rated a Somewhat Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Aug 2, 2009
Pros: Cheap to operate, quiet (except when spinning), very compact.
    Cons: Somewhat small drum capacity.

Summary: Many of the complaints against this model have to do with it failing to dry properly after some period of use.  How long it takes for this problem to appear depends on how much use and what type of items are washed.  Frequent washing of throw ... read more

Pros: Works where few other units will and cleans efficiently.
Cons: Needs lots of maintenance you may end up doing yourself.

    Feb 27, 2009
Pros: Quiet; efficient; green; washes and dries perfectly well; space-saving; cute bell (ding!); nice design
Cons: You have to follow the manufacturer's instructions exactly (otherwise, you get soggy or wrinkly clothes)

Summary: We (my spouse and I) purchased the combo washer/dryer because we wanted to save space, and a trip to visit family in Scotland (and a peek at their kitchen) turned us on to the idea of a combo unit that can easily fit below the countertops in our ... read more

Pros: Settings, automatic dry cycle if choose, small size, beautiful appearance, energy efficient, affordable
    Cons: Nothing!

Summary: This washer-dryer combo is fantastic!!  I bought it about 2 months ago.  It is energy-efficient, so it doesn't make the PSE&G bill go up.  Also, it doesn't pump large amounts of water into and out of the machine, so it can be connected ... read more

No need to move clothes from washer to dryer
Cons: No lint filter requires periodic disassembly and cleaning

Summary: I really like this machine for the ease of use, variety of options, and the fact that it uses very little water and power.  Overall I've had a great experience with it, but a few tips:Using the timed dry will dry your clothes MUCH faster ... read more

Pros: Uses less water, soap, saves energy/money on my electric. Small machine, rinses well, many features.
Cons: Longer drying time, needs smaller loads, cleans less laundry at one time

Summary: I've used my LG WM3431 Ventless Washer Dryer machine for 5 months now, and I love it! No more "sharing" the laundry machines with my building neighbors is worth the price itself. This little machine is great for a single person and really gets the ... read more

Pros: one cycle, fits in small space, does not need a vent, easy controls
Cons: capacity is small; the child lock is annoying

Summary: I bought this for a vacation home that had no room for a traditional washer / dryer. The LG WM3431 ventless combo was a perfect solution although I did have to give up some closet space. I LOVE that I can throw a load of wash in & just leave it ... read more

    Cons: hard to get repaired

Pros: Quiet. Cleans and dries well and gently. Very impressive and great-looking machine.
Cons: Honestly, none so far. The longer cycle times aren't a problem for us.

Pros: Clean clothes, no laundry mat!!!
Cons: wrinkled clothes, price of unit, length of cycles generally much longer than stated, small loads

Summary: I live in a NYC apartment. I don't have the option of hooking up a regular system. I can wash my clothes at a laundry mat (a real pain in the rear) or I can wash my clothes at home with this LG combo machine. Thus, the compromise. You trade some ... read more
