Best French in San Francisco

Pros: Food is so good, it makes me cry Cons: Cost
We eat out quite a bit, and La Folie is consistently our favorite. We've suggested to many friends and the response is always terrific. We've never had a disappointing evening. The soups are to die for. We definitely prefer La Folie to Masa's, the other high end french in SF.
Service is impeccable and friendly. The dining room atmosphere is pleasant and less formal that Masa's. You can definitely break the bank here, but for special events, it's well worth it (e.g. $500 all in for 2, bottle of wine, tasting menu, tip)
