Pros: Perfect microphone sound if configured properly, good sound quality Cons: Doesn't fit well nor adjust much, cover for boom comes off frequently
The Labtec axis 502 is a unit commonly found at places such as OfficeMax. Black with a microphone attached that can swing out and is adjustable, the microphone also pops to the side so that a person can eat or drink while having the headset on. The...
Pros: Comfortable, adjustable, clear, easy to control Cons: Might be difficult to use on a Desktop Computer
The Labtec Axis 502 Stereo Headset is the greatest product for communication over your laptop on the market. I recently started being a DJ for an online radio channel. I started out using the microphone that came with my desktop ...
Pros: Nice sound, brilliant microphone, easy to adjust, rugged Cons: Doesn't cover around the ear, a bit pricy without being top notch, not comfortable
If you're into serious teamplay gaming, like clanwars in Counter-Strike, Quake3, Broodwar, etc, you quickly realize that the best form of communication is by voice. Typing in the heat of the battle isn't ideal when victories are at stake. For this sole...
Pros: Great audio and voice quality. Cons: Uncomfortable, awful cord setup, too expensive for what you get.
I decided to purchase a computer microphone for myself as a gift because I'm always interested in new computer related "toys," particularly if I don't have to shell out much money for them. I immediately looked to Lab Tec as my solution as I've purchased...
Pros: If they fit you, you can get this cheaply made headset for under $10 (OEM). Cons: Short boom folds up/down only; uncomfortable. One word: junk.
Fit: This product appears to be designed for people with smaller heads. The fold-down plastic boom with the microphone on it is too small/short for my face. With the earpads on my ears, the plastic boom is against my cheek, and the microphone ends ...
Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Great Sound, Great Value Cons: Microphone foam comes off to easy. Tend to "stretch" over time.
I have had my most recent pair for over 3 years and love them. They are comfortable and work extremely well. The previous pair I had was replaced only because I accidentally ripped one of the ear pieces off. Not the pad, the whole speaker.
They do tend to loosen up as time goes on but I find that if I simply push the adjustable earpieces back up so they would fit a really short head and kinda crunch it a bit before bed, the next day it is a stronger grip.
I use them strictly as my sound for my desktop PC, primarily for Everquest and have used them for NetPhone in the early days.
I find it interesting that people complain about them being pricey. In the 3+ years I have had these I have simply replaced the foam earpads that cost me about $3. In that same amount of time my stepson has been through 4 sets of headphones ranging in cost from $35 to $80 bucks. Seems like this one was a pretty good value if you ask me :-)
Best I've Had for the price by laurelvalen ,Mar 19 '06
Pros: Wonderful microphone quality, very comfortable, durable cords, comforming fit. Cons: Plastic can snap with mild force at weaker points around the earpieces.
I purchased this item off ebay once and had a wonderful time with it. I had recently purchased a webcam from Labtec which i liked very much, and looked for a headset from the company to complete my internet chatting set. I found this was one of the most comfortable headsets i've ever had, and the wires do not wear easily, so that you could have them in use for quite a while without needing to purchase a new headset. Very comfortable, lovely adjusting earpeice with the microphone, conforms to your comfort and isn't merely a rigid headphone system. Very nice, very adjustable, very comfortable.
I have bought 4 pair of these because they sound you get from them is great and they are only $20, but I am here to tell you they will not last. I guess the connections in the wiring is just not strong enough because that is where the problem always seems to be. Logitech makes some that looks just like these, I dont know if the 2 companies are together or what but I have tried 2 sets of Logitechs that look just like the labtecs with the same results. I will not buy another pair.
