Labtec Axis-711 Headset

Pros: When it works it's great.
Cons: It usually produces static.

This product is somewhat hit and miss. I've tried mine on four systems and it's only worked on one of the four. The other three systems yield very high levels of static and very weak voice recordings. When it does work, it produced beautifully clear sound.

It appears that Windows XP is more reliable than Windows 2000 with this device. On both versions of Windows the Axis 711 is recognized automatically (plug and play), however there appears to be a problem with the drivers. Labtec support is not able to shed any light on this and insists their hardware is fine and that there is nothing they can do about Windows drivers.
