Pros: The best prime rib ever, made even more heavenly by the whipped cream/horseradish sauce. Cons: You'll probably have to pay for valet parking because onstreet spots are hard to find.
Summary: One of my favorite restaurants in Downtown Chicago is Lawry's Prime Rib, where the title meat is truly a carnivore's paradise. While there are a couple of fish dishes on the menu to saite those who want to take a pass on the cow flesh (and, as I'll ... read more

Pros: PRIME RIB! Great salads, wonderful service Cons: Their decor reminds me of a Las Vegas buffet seating area from the 60s.

Pros: Great bread and salad. Atmosphere is nicely formal and casual at the same time Cons: semi-cramped and stuffy, not worth the hefty pricetag, inconsistent

Pros: Prime rib and sides are very tasty and well presented. Cons: The prime rib portions are small--even the Jim Brady cut.
Summary: My wife and I have dined at the Lawry's Prime Rib in Chicago many times and have always been pleased--good food, good service, great ambiance. However, on our much-anticipated visit to Beverly Hills (9/2001) we couldn't have been more disappointed.

Pros: Excellent ambiance, great food Cons: the only menu item is prime rib (not a negative in my book - that's what they are known for)
Summary: This restaurant is a must-see for those from out of town or those new to the local area. Believe me, when you've been once, you'll be sure to go back. Not for vegetarians! Reservations are highly recommended, as this is a popular LA haunt.
