Pros: Kinda cute; "introduces letter names, letter sounds, colors and musical awareness." Cons: ANNOYING; a few design flaws; doesn't capture or hold child's attention (ie. BORING).
With the Christmas season fast approaching, I'm finding myself wondering what to buy for my daughter. Oh, there are plenty of things that I'd love to give her - what parent doesn't have that problem? The trouble is attempting to decide on a reasonable ...
BEWARE: LeapFrog is voluntarily recalling 500,000 Alphabet
Pal toys. The original version is GREEN, and has a pull-string that features a red plastic connector. The connector comes in ...
Pros: Durable, cute, teaching tool Cons: Annoying voice at times. What's with the censoring?
This was originally an express review. Having owned Alphabet Pal Caterpillar for one year and having four grand daughters who play with this toy, I have more to add, much more. My grandchildren have toys at their grandparents home. My wife and I give ...
Pros: Pleasant voice, fun, educational Cons: None I can think of
When my daughter fell over in her stroller and split her lip open, she was a good sport. When her stitches were ready to be taken out, we decided that she deserved a little something. We had been meaning to pick up a toy that would repeat things like ...
Pros: music, on/off switch, fun to pull Cons: short string, loud, kind of boring for younger kids
Yes, I am still working on reviewing all the stuff my son received for his first birthday. He got way too much. One toy that he showed no interest in at first, but now seems to enjoy quite a bit is the Leap Frog Alphabet Pal Caterpillar. ...
Pros: fun, educational, teaches four different things Cons: pull string isn't very long
My two year old son got this toy for Christmas. Actually, he was shopping with grandma and saw it in Wal Mart and threw a tantrum when he had to leave and stop playing with it, so she sneaked it into her cart. The one he got is orange, but as far as I ...
Pros: Versatile settings, cute bug. Cons: Not appealing to my child.
My daughter received this as a gift when she was 6 mo old. It was way too advanced for her then and she had very little interest in it. I kept it around thinking maybe she would grow into it. Now she is 26 mo and she still has very little interest in ...
Pros: Bright Colors, catchy tunes, great learning toy. Cons: Haven't found any yet.
My 9 month old received this gift as a Christmas present from his aunt. Even though the age range on the product is for older kids he really seems to enjoy it. The Colors of the thing are awesome and are definately eye catching. What little ...
Pros: Cute, Variety of Music and functions, Wobbly roll is entertaining to kids sometimes. Cons: Repetitiveness is annoying to parents!
My son got this toy mainly because it was educational, though he already knows his colors and alphabet, he usually just listens to the different songs it plays. I would say though annoying in general to parents, it is great for any child who likes music, they are really entertained by the variety of songs it plays and the fact that it's a pull along makes it fun for them to take with them (if only the string were a bit longer).
Leap Frog apparently thinks children are hearing impaired! This toy is too loud on the quiet setting, and nearly deafening on it's loud setting. I would stick with Fisher Price toys, at least their toy engineers understand decibel levels!
Pros: Safe, versatile, entertaining, educational. Helped my son to learn his entire alphabet. Cons: Pull string is too short. Sign-off can wake a drowsy child
Our little son received his Alphabet Pal when he was 8-months old. He has loved this toy from the very first day he got it. He doesn't pull it around (the pull-string is too short) but he will sit and play the music for hours at the time. He sings along with Alphabet Pal on the ABC song. He also knows the words to almost every song Alphabet Pal plays. He will occasionally switch the toy to phonetic mode. He used to get so tickled at listening to the Alphabet Pal sound out the letters L and R. This toy has really fed his hunger to make music. This toy may not be for every toddler, but our son would be broken-hearted if anything were to happen to his Alphabet Pal. Leap Frog, you have gained my respect as a company who designs toys that are fun to play as they teach. I will definitely buy more of your products and I would highly recommend the Alphabet Pal to any parent whose child has an active mind and loves music.
Its a Canadian Conspiracy by seriously26 ,Dec 26 '08
Pros: as with all leap frog products, appears to be well made and durable. Cons: a 20 letter alphabet.
Its a conspiracy to make our children dumb. Opened the catepillar this morning for my daughter. When you pull the string, the alphabet song starts. Only problem is, they forget the letters Q R S T U and V. Oops.
