Leap Frog Learning System
by mom_of_4 ,Nov 07 '03
Pros: You can find a lot of books for this system. Cons: Pen and book doesn't stay very well in place.
I bought this learning system, for my daughter last year for Christmas. She loves it. She can't keep her 2 yr. old brother off of it. I need to buy a small one for him. He likes the fact you get to use a pencil. Thank you, Leap Frog

A great educational toy
by mccbridge ,Dec 15 '03
Pros: Versatile, grows with each child, easy to use Cons: The price of the books
This is a wonderful toy for any age. My son who is 3 loves to play with his age group of books such as Bob the builder, Thomas the train and others. My daughter who is 8 can also play with it, she uses the harder levels for her reading. It is a wonderful investment because it grows with them for years to come.

Not for Households with small children!
by texasstacee ,Dec 12 '03
Pros: Easy and fun to play and learn Cons: WAY TOO EASY TO BREAK
Overall, the idea and concept behind this is great, but that doesn't last long. I bought it for my 4 year old for Christmas last year and by February his 15 month old brother broke the pen off! You can't buy a replacement pen, so you have to buy a whole new unit! Kids toys should be made for kids, and that means durability

I am sold on Leap Frog products. Your child will fall in love with them.
by dklevergirl ,Oct 23 '05
Pros: Leap Frog products are easy to work with, and easy to use. Cons: To be honest with the products I have purchased, I have had no complaints.
I purchased this product for my child. To be honest with you she loved it and she loves each and every product I have bought from this company. So if my daughter likes them, I will continue to buy them. What i like is that Leap Frog products sell everything that a child needs for learning.

Educational...but not tough
by tnmomof2 ,Jan 23 '04
Pros: educational, portable Cons: expensive and parts are hard to keep up with
My daughter received her first leap pad when she was 4 yrs old, and for a child with a very short attention span, she spent a great amount of time with it. We were delighted something that kept her occupied AND taught her different things too. But much to my dismay i have purchased 2 of these because the pen always malfunctions. It seems as much as you pay for one of these systems, along with the price of the book/cartridge sets that they would be just a littler tougher and stand up to kids. She took care of it, just that the way you have to put the pen and cord into the book when you put it away seems to damage the cord and short it out.

To the Extreme.
by Diveah ,Dec 07 '05
Pros: Children learn, while you're free to join in or multitask from across the room. Cons: Batteries required.
It looked so fun, i wanted to play with it myself, but it wasn't mine. What an insightful, and entertaining piece of equipment, Leapfrog has designed to educate my child. Made of had and durable plastic, so younger siblings can't break it, Leappad is an electronic and interacting device that nearly any child can use. They market an entire range of Leappad learning sets that you need in order to make the magic happen. From pre-K up through 3rd grade, utilizing basic learning activities and well-known childrens characters to teach, instruct, help and praise your child in their learning adventures. There are read along stories, mathematics, science, spelling, problem solving, etc. You can buy it when they are 2 and it is still a functional toy when they are 8 and 9 years old. Thats quite an investment if you ask me. Teaches us a thing or two as well.

A toy that lasts and lasts
by njshoppermom ,Feb 22 '06
Pros: Batteries last a long time! Lots of different books to choose from. Cons: None
We purchased our first Leappad for our daughter when she was about 2 yrs old. She just turned 9 and our Leappad is still used about 1-2 times a week by her or by her siblings. Recently, we purchased our 2nd Leappad so the 2 younger children do not have to fight over it.
We started with preschool books and have expanded our collection as the kids get older. These books teach and reinforce letters, numbers, phonics and reading skills, through games and music. They are lots of fun. The kids don't even realize how much they are learning!

LEAP PAD LEARNING SYSTEM
by koreyaljets ,Apr 29 '06
Pros: I like the idea of a interactive game the kids can learn with. . Cons: The books are costly. It needs another power source. The leappad just do not last.
We are on our third leappad. The first two we thought the kids may have damaged when we were out of the room. The third leappad was only played with when a adult was around and it still broke. I like the idea but the thing does not last.
