Pros: An educational and fun LeapPad intended for younger children - excellent learning tool! Cons: Pen cord not long enough, I wish books/plates snapped into place
Summary: My husband's sister does not read the age-recommendations on toys before she buys them -- that's how my boy received a LeapFrog My First LeapPad for his first birthday (at least she did manage to get him the "My First" version). Although this toy is ... read more

Pros: It's a brilliant idea for interactive learning matched to the skills of a toddler. Cons: It is not very durable, goes through a lot of batteries, and no effective troubleshooting.
Summary: First let me start by saying that this toy is about the greatest toy every thought up in theory. I have long thought kids would enjoy books more and learn from them more if they could interact with them. I bought this toy new two months ago for my ... read more

Pros: Battery operated Cons: bad product
Summary: Well for Christmas last year i decided to get my two year old a Leap Frog My First LeapPad and i absolutly hated it. Sad face I know, it was exspensive, it was noisey and he tore the pages of the book. I think the toy makers had great intentions with ... read more

Pros: Easy to use.
Great for car trips. Cons: Difficult for a young child to flip the book over.
Summary: We bought a My First Leap Pad for our 2 1/2 year old to use on a long car trip. The box says the Leap Pad is for ages 3 and up, but our child caught on very quickly how to use it. In just a few minutes he mastered turning the pages and placing the ... read more

Pros: Lots of great little books with fun characters. Long battery life. Many fun activities. Cons: Durability questionable. Small cartridges easily lost.
Summary: Not to sound old (I'm 33), but back in my day, we didn't have no talkin' books. We had us some books with cassettes that gave you a little "BOING... Turn the Page" but that was the extent of the interaction, and that's the way it was and we liked it! ... read more

Pros: Encourages learning in a fun and interesting manner; great toy for preschoolers. Cons: Requires batteries; kids must remember to press GO with every turn of the page.
Summary: While shopping for Christmas gifts in late November with my husband, we decided our 3 1/2 year old son, Tristan, needed some kind of educational toy as he prefers to spend too much of his time either watching movies or playing video games (it's a bit ... read more

Pros: Educational and with the additional books it makes the learning endless. Cons: Hard to store - books come out easily - mechanical problems.
Summary: My daughter didn't quite know what to do with this when I bought it for her second birthday. It is a great computer-like system that you insert a book into the front and a cartridge into the side and your child can learn about all the preschool basics. ... read more

Pros: Fun games, engaging, many books to choose from based on popular characters, durable books Cons: Books are a bit pricey, no headphone jack
Summary: My two year old enjoys this toy a lot. And unlike the regular leap pad, where there have been a few books that were not favorites, all the my first leap pad books have been enjoyed (we have all of them). It took my two-year-old a little while to really ... read more

Pros: Improves fine motor skills, teaches alphabet, numbers, etc. Kids love it. Cons: Cartridge slot is fragile.
Summary: Introduction There a lot of educational toys on the market. Most kids have a habit of rejecting them outright if they are too education-focused. Finding the balance between education and fun is the key and this toy is one of the best! My ... read more

Pros: Very user friendly for the young kids Cons: Not enough books
