Pros: ADF for Scan/Copy feature; built-in memory card slots and PictBridge port, Inexpensive Cons: Poor Print Quality, Snail Speeds for Copying
All in one multifunction printers sound expensive, but now a days you can bring one home for a scanty $100.00. The Lexmark x5470 is no exception to this price range as it combines printing, copying, faxing, and scanning into one practical ...
I'm a graphic designer, so I thought my input would be helpful. I bought this printer a little over a week ago and have been scanning, copying, and printing with it. No faxes yet. Most people leave out some info I consider critical to a review: operating ...
Pros: Easy Installation Cons:My review says it all
I was in desperate need of a printer two years back because I always had to resort to either going to libraries, school or friends houses to get print jobs done. So while at a local future shop with my cousin I saw a lot of printers and for the ...
Pros: does everything it promised, easy to install and use Cons: Big and heavy machine, Lexmark software has few things to improve for even easier use.
I bought this product thru QVC few months ago. So far it has worked fine for me. Printing quality is just fine for me and this printer was easy to hook up and install, very clear instructions. I have used the scanner quite a bit and I'm happy the ...
Pros: Inexpensive, easy to use, does a decent job on scanning, faxing, copying, printing. Cons: Costly print cartridges that don't last, crude software.
I really like that for a low price you get a decent printer in the Lexmark x5470, with photo quality. Plus it has a reasonably good scanner that doubles as a fax machine and copier. It is easy to use, simple to set up and is well worth the ...
Pros: Looks good and is a fast printer Cons: everything else
A great looking fast printer with more than its share of fatal flaws
The Scanning software defaults are not able to be changed or any profiles added. This means any option but the preset can take 3 levels of menu to set for each and every scan.
Multi document feeder will only feed documents in very good condition.
A sheet of 10x15 cm labels got lost in the machine causing an unclearable paper jam.
Supplied installation disk caused a device manager failure to load message, downloading the current version fixed this problem.
But the Lexmark support was excellent. They answered my question about the scanning software without having to look it up, I suppose others have asked the same question, and most importantly they readily offered a replacement machine and with very little prompting a reference number for a refund. Apparently the refund policy applies for 14 days but I asked on the 15th day and it was granted without question.
well designed paperweight by hopkinslax12 ,Apr 13 '07
Pros: good design, looks nice Cons: everything
this thing is a problem waiting to happen. it works great for the first 30 days (coincidentally, just longer than the warranty period). after which the sheet feeder on the scanner will begin to chew up your papers at will, the scans will come out distorted. and the printing speeds will slow down eternally. in addition to switch modes the printer will have a brain freeze and not let you switch for 5 minutes....go buy the canon--i have it at home and this one at the office and im considering just switching them
Pros: Size, color of plastic, Advertised usefulness Cons: Everything else, cost per page, ink duration, user interface, driver CD,paper loading/feeding
The printer sucks the ink faster than any other Inkjet I have ever had. I bought it because it is multifunction and has fax/scan/copy abilities. It has them, but they are all not very user friendly. The ink cartridges are easy to install, but if you don't tell the printer it has had a new cartridge installed it will not recognize it nor will it accurately measure how much ink it has left.
65% of the new (not refurbished) cartridges are not recognized by the printer and have to be replaced.
The support website in unhelpful, the live chat supplied the same answer over and over.
The paper loading tray does not hold enough paper, plus it jams frequently or sucks in more than one sheet.
Big Brother Buy -so beware by freedomchaser ,Dec 14 '08
Pros: The Fax portion works. Cons: Copier, scanner, printer unusable unless "online" to the Internet.
Absolutely will not do ANYTHING without being online except fax via my phone line.
Therefore, I have NEVER used anything except the Fax portion of it, and ONLY kept the machine because I was job hunting when I bought it and the price was the same as returning it for a fax-only machine.
But in essence, that is ALL I GOT from this All-In-One. The paper will NOT feed if I attempt to copy/print. The ink cartridges will not "align" or "clean" unless I give permission via my firewall to go online.
The Scanner portion will not scan to my PC UNLESS I GO ONLINE.
Definitely a Big Brother un-American purchase in my e-pinion.
Good Inexpensive All-In-One by rottresq ,Apr 22 '08
Pros: Reliable, Simple, Home Printer/Scanner/Copier/FAX Cons: Heavy Ink User, Fairly large, Wide and Tall.
After 2 HP all-in-ones refused to receive any FAX's (module problem I was told, who knows, Amazon took'em back no questions). I chose a Lexmark X5470. Right from the get go it worked. Software loaded easily, preferences set up quickly. And behold, it sends and receives FAX's! For the money, $79 from Amazon, I'm satisfied.
It is for home use, not an office. Not the finest print quality I have seen, but very usable. Seems to chew through ink. Use the xtra-large ink cartridges offered by Lexmark. Also and this is critical! Turn off all firewall/anti-virus/spyware/whatever ho-doo blocking installed security programs you have on your computer. Load the printer driver, set your preferences and then reactivate and allow the printer software to run when you are asked by the firewall. If you do not, then the problems described in the previous reviews will occur.
Its not a Lexus, its a Toyota Corolla, and it starts and runs when you turn the key.
