Pros: Toni's voice successfully navigates conteporary R&B production. Cons: Solid, but not spectacular.
Poor Toni Braxton. She began her career as the saddest woman in R&B. With a husky, deep delivery that cast her as Anita Baker's miserable little sister, Toni set the world on fire with torch songs like "Another Sad Love Song", "Seven Whole Days" and ...
Pros: Braxton's fantastic voice, great production and instrumentation, nice love-centered lyrics. Cons: Rich Harrison just doesn't deliver with Take This Ring Off.
Toni Braxton just might be one of the best, most distinctive voices to have come out of the nineties. Taking the deep, lush tones and timbres of Anita Baker and adding a sizzling sensuality she created her own sound . I remember the first time I heard ...
Pros: Toni’s best album in years, quite possibly ever Cons: Too short; Toni still doesn’t know how to ENUNCIATE!
Putting it lightly, Toni Braxtons had a turbulent music career. She started off as a heartbroken R&B chanteuse who successfully bridged the gap between R&B and Adult Contemporary formats with her self-titled 1993 debut. Then she transformed into a ...
Pros: Time and love has been on Toni’s side Cons: Sometimes she slips…
Sometimes she slips, but those moments are far and few in between. The evolution of Ms. Braxton is incredible. Eight albums (2 were greatest hits and one was a Christmas album) and unlike many divas whether it be due to drugs, or vocal strain, their ...
Pros: Strong, contemporary R&B songwriting, accented by Braxton's evolving maturity as a singer Cons: The album tends to lean toward the typical Braxton ballads at times
With her heart fully unbroken (but not so healed that she’s given up on her trademark tales of woe), Toni Braxton returns with her most stellar set of smooth jams yet. Working with a who’s who of up-and-coming writers and producers (Scott Storch, the ...
Toni has done it again!!! by braxton1love ,Sep 29 '05
Pros: I own all of Toni's albums, she always sings about REAL things, That's "What's Good" Cons: There are no cons, hardly ever when you're talking about Ms. Braxton. GET IT RIGHT!
This album's theme is very nice. The vocals are strong and her voice isn't being drained out by Keri's music arrangements. I love the entire album, there are some true subjects like "having a good man" and "giving an engagement ring back" Not to say that these are things that are bad, they just came at me with a little surprise. I already had an idea what Toni was going to be delivering to us. Toni, you made a very good choice switching record labels, the music is a lot different and us fans, we like it!!!
Keep up the great work!!! And,congrats on your first album from Blackground, I hope it sells really well! Peace.
