Pros: smooth glide, quiet, user friendly control panel Cons: extra $$ for heart rate monitor, takes up a lot of space, expensive
Although this piece of exercise equipment is very costly, the price is more than made up for in its many benefits. I used a similar model while working out at my local gym for a year. I lost about 20 lbs. and firmed up. When I moved, I could no longer...
Pros: High quality, stable, easy to use Cons: Basic, not a lot of bells and whistles
About a year ago I moved into a new house and decided I finally had room for an elliptical trainer. I had used Life Fitness e-trainers in my health club for years, and felt comfortable buying one of their machines. The salesman at the fitness store ...

Pros: Smooth as ice, great feel, ultra solid & quiet Cons: "advanced" console is slow and limited

Good Elliptical, not very good quality by onlinefed ,Jan 05 '09
Pros: Smooth, quiet, full body workout, easy to use Cons: Build quality, not very intuitive process of setting the profiles and workouts
I've been using treadmill for about 10 years, and decided to buy elliptical as my knees started to hurt. I bought Life Fitness X3 at Omni Fitness over a year ago along with extended warranty (never done that on anything I bought before). Left arm started knocking right away, but was told to wait till it settles. Took four tech visits to fix it. After the last visit the whole unit became very flimsy, the right arm started knocking. Finally got the whole unit replaced. The new one was OK until the control monitor stopped working. Now I am expecting the replacement, and hope it will work. Other than average quality, I love this machine as it gives the complete workout for the whole body, helps burn calories much faster than treadmill, and my knees are OK now.
Pros: Easy on Joints Cons: Not many variations of this exercise
This is a really good workout. This Elipical trainer works really well. Maintains your heart rate for maximum fat burn. Your whole body gets a great workout i would recomended that anyone buys one. This is great on all of your joints and you are not sore like you would be from running
The Best Elliptical on the Market! by terry231 ,Jun 06 '05
Pros: Smooth and Solid. Easy to use computer display. Cons: You will have to purchase a new wardrobe after using it!
I returned my Precor and bought the Life Fitness X-3. The dual action makes all the difference. The ramp on my Precor felt "artificial" and hurt my knees. I am very pleased that the store was able to swap me into this elliptical.
finally, an awesome upper & lower body workout that wont leave you with sore joints by jessica605 ,Aug 03 '05
Pros: great workout for upper and lower body, very little impact on knees and joints. Cons: takes up space.
I use the Life Fitness X3 six days a week at the gym. This machine is AWESOME! I used to run quite a bit, but i found that running was taking a toll on my joints and leaving me pretty sore. The X3 gives me a workout similar to running, without leaving me with sore joints. Additionally, it works my upper, as well as lower body. One distinct feature that i really like is the ability to increase both the incline and the resistance. By having the option to play around with the resistance AND incline, i never have the same workout as the day before. Also, increasing the resistance allows me to challenge myself more. The random program setting is great because it keeps me guessing as to what is coming next and my body doesn't get used to one level. Another great feature is the ability to go in reverse. Working in reverse mode is equally challenging but isolates and works a different group of muscles. I would definitely recommend this machine. It is easy to use and you will get an amazing workout without being left with sore and aching muscles.

We recieved this product about a week ago. So far my opinion is that it is solidly built with excellent build quality all around. Very, very smooth motion when compared to cheaper units such as any of the icon products.
