I recently purchased the LinkSYS WRT310N router as a replacement to an older wireless router. I wasn't previously experiencing any problems, I was merely looking to find something with more range, better looking (with an internal antenna), and built for ...

Pros: Looks very sleek, supports N wireless standard, good signal strength Cons: Random disconnects, runs very hot, unreliable

Disappointment
by georgeshemtov ,Jun 19 '08
Pros: Look, light weight, small, thin, easy installation Cons: not connecting to mac nor PC. doesn't have manual configuration.
Just had to change my other router because it did not work with my Verizon modem. Apperrantly they both assigned same IP addresses and neither recognizes the other. Anyways, I got this item from best buy and gave it a try. Installation really easy. Really moder look and light. doesn't take a lot for space. But the problem is that my internet doesn't not get connected on mac nor PC.
Couldn't connect it with re installation and finally gave up. giving it back tomorrow.
On the other hand i tested a WRT600N and it's a BOMB. OK the price is too high but believe me it's just as if you have your computer wired to the modem maybe even faster. CRAZY.
Hope this review helped. :)

Router stops communicating if SPI is enabled

Pros: fast, easy configurable, good wireless coverage. Cons: 1. Router stops communication if SPI is enabled in security settings

1. Router stops communication if SPI is enabled in security settings after visiting some sites (random) while connected wirelessly (!). The same sites do not cause problems to Ethernet connection
2. It is somewhat unexpectedly hot... I am talking about temperature
