Pros: This is a fast dual band wireless router that supports gigabit wired connections. Cons: Build quality isn't consistent, firmware doesn't properly support attached USB drives.
The Linksys WRT610N at the time of this writing is the current top of the line Linksys (by Cisco) home router. It features a 4 port gigabit LAN and a single gigabit WAN connection. The unit is made of high gloss black plastic, and shaped a bit like a ...
Pros: Relatively easy set up, reliable performance Cons: Haven't experienced problems, so hard to identify one at this point
If I may begin with a bit of a caveat, I am not, repeat n-o-t a "computer guy." I use e-mail, know my way around Microsoft Office and generally can run what's already set up, but I don't understand "geek speak" (and I mean that term with the ...
Pros: Ease of use/setup. Price for features. Storage link. Cons: Buggy firmware. No resolution to problems forthcoming
I have a long history of using Linksys wireless and wired products both professionally and personally. I had a WRTP54G for home use for several years with little/no problem. When that unit bricked, I bought the WRT350N to get the storage link ...
Pros: Nice looking product with pretty blue lights. Cons: Below average 2.4 GHz wireless G area coverage.
Atrocious 5.8 GHz wireless N area coverage.
I recently bought the Linksys WRT610N router because I have crowding on the 2.4 GHz band at home. I had been using a 2Wire 2700 HG-B (super G) gateway that has a 400 mA transmitter. My house is a 125 year old 2 story wooden Victorian house with no ...
Pros: 2.4Ghz and 5.8Ghz bands, N speed, easy setup. Cons: Odd shape. Other than that this router works as it should.
This router comes with the easiest setup I have ever seen. The software is comperhensive and loaded into Windows Vista without problem. I connected the 5.8Ghz to the media server, the 2.5Ghz serves 2 other computers and two wireless phones ...
Pros: Good distance. Increase internet speed. Cons: So far none.
I had an old Linksys G-band router and decided to upgrade. We have DirecTV and I wanted to use the router to record movies onto two DirecTV DVR's through Linksys wireless receivers (model WGA600N). I used the installation disk and ...
Pros: Every time I return one of these to the electronics store, they happily exchange it. Cons: Everything. This is a $200 brick. A wi-fi router needs to connect wirelessly! IT DOESN'T.
This is easily the most disappointing router I've ever purchased... I suppose that's because it's also the most expensive router I've ever purchased and it does one thing very poorly- allow me to walk around and connect wirelessly. This is NOT a ...
Garbage - buy this router if you want problems by ichiphead ,Aug 16 '08
Pros: Dual bands and radios increases overall throughput, and separates traffic. Cons: Bad reception, pure and simple.
I bought the WRT610n because I was experiencing reception problems on my laptop. The problem turned out to be the antenna on my laptop -- a poor connection. But after a couple of weeks of using the WRT610n, I have discovered that the reception on the WRT610n is much worse the my previous DLink Gamer's Lounge, and I've switched back. Maybe the lack of external antennas is responsible for low signal gain, but my wife complained about losing internet connectivy about every 30 minutes with this router, and at very short distances (30-40 feet), too. Huge let down. Maybe Linksys can fix the problem with a firmware update, but until then, don't walk, run away from the WRT610n as fast as you can.
