Truely Wireless

by wotanist , Jan 30 '06
Pros: Very easy to use, overall a good product, good connectivity, range n transfer speeds
Cons: Some deadspots when device is close to the computers.
I just enabled wireless connectivity in my house between my Desktop, Laptop and Printer. It had been a while since I've been waiting to get my hands on this but unfortunately this is way too expensive in my country and I had to order one from the United ...

Excellent Wireless-G router for a good price

by robdecotiis , May 29 '06
Pros: Easy to set up, Fast, Reliable, Secure
Cons: Slightly Expensive, limited # of external connections
I purchased the WRT54GX2 router as a replacement for my aging wireless-b router. I wanted to get the faster wireless-G standard, so I could stream movies and music from one computer to another without having to drill holes in the walls of my old house ...

Much stronger wireless signal but QOS and VoIP support does not work

by dennisma , Dec 12 '05
Pros: It did extend the range and signal strength of the WiFi.
Cons: VoIP support broken though there are canned configuration settings for it.
This router did deliver on its promise of extending the range and signal strength. My oldest son's computer in his bedroom gets a very strong signal (all bars green) now where before with the WRT54G router I used he would be running with a very weak ...

Nasty ... discouraging ... infuriating

by bdemchak , Jan 22 '07
Pros: Solid, attractive, compact unit. Tech support tried hard.
Cons: Wireless nearly DOA, old firmware, no paper document, company did not stand behind product.
I had hoped to upgrade from a failing 802.11b Belkin router to a modern MIMO router with a signal that couldn't be swamped by my neighbors' new wireless products. This Linksys came highly recommended, and what vendor could be more reputable than ...

I think I got a bad one. Major DHCP problems.

by balrog49 , Dec 28 '06
Pros: Costs slightly less than the three-antenna model.
Cons: Quality control. If you get a bad one, exchange it.
I tried an assortment of PC-based NICs. Using CAT6 Ethernet cable, only one of two 802.11g NICs was able to get an IP address from it using straight Windows XP Pro default TCP/IP settings. The DHCP client list on the router thinks there's a client there ...

So easy a CAVEMAN can do it!

by ngfhorn , Feb 27 '07
Pros: EASY INSTALLATION, GREAT CUSTOMER SUPPORT, AFFORDABLE, RELIABLE!
Cons: NONE
I went to Best Buy to buy a wireless router thinking that someone has got to know something about these things there. I was told all the routers were the same and I could just buy whatever was on sale ($40 Belkin router). I took it home and it was so ...

My first wireless router...
by guitar_zan ,Nov 10 '06
Pros: *Good price, speed, range, easy setup (use the website), security cinch.
Cons: needs a better PRINTED user guide.
Since this is my very first attempt at a home wireless network, I have no comparisons to draw upon. That said, it took me about a month to figure this thing out. Once I went to the Linksys website and found the auto set up download, though, I was up and running in about 30 minutes.

Since then, I've been surfing away all over the house with my laptop (DELL B130), Pocket PC (DELL Axim X30), HPC (Jornada w/card), and Sony PSP without a glitch to report.

I recieve a strong, surfable signal all the way to the end of my block, and the security was a no-brainer to set up.

All-in-all I'd say it was fairly worth the initial frustration (which could have been avoided, had i visited the support site on day 1).
