Pros: Sturdy construction, bright colors & farm animals!
Cons: Too many small pieces for a small child to keep as a set.
We had purchased the Fisher Price Farm for our first son when he was a toddler. While it does look cute and entertaining to an adult, it is not long at all before it is ignored by the child. It’s only uses being a dust collector or...

Great for Toddlers
by azores_girl ,Mar 29 '04
Pros: Great for toddler's imagination, pieces aren't a choking hazard and are durable.
Cons: none
My daughter loves this set. At 19 months, she can really enjoy this set and I don't have to worry about her breaking the pieces or choking on them. They wash off very easily!
When you put the farm animals in their proper places the barn makes animal noises. Open the cow's gate and you hear a moo sound and set the pig in his pin and it oinks. There are animal sounds for the horse, sheep, and chicken. The barn has a little knob for toddlers to turn that lifts the farmer's bed to make him wake up and go into the field.
What I love about the Little People sets is that you can always buy extra animals, people, or more sets that will work with all the other sets!

A timeless addition to your child's toy collection
by jwpearce ,Apr 03 '06
Pros: Very durable, entertaining, parts can be interchanged with other sets,
Cons: Take up a lot of storage space.
We purchased this toy over four years ago for our son. He played with it for many, many hours and never damaged a thing. He adored the sounds and the moving parts (you can flip people out of bed and the chicken has a nest that turns over, small details that just cracked my son up for hours on end).

This product held up so well that we saved it for our baby daughter, who now is enjoying it as much as our son did. We love the child-safe large pieces. It really encouraged her to start sitting up to play. She's only seven months old, but is already enjoying this toy thoroughly and I'm sure will for many years.

Over this is a very high quality toy that really keeps the little ones' attention. The people and animal are usable in other sets, which adds to the fun for your own "little people."

This timeless classic will make a great part of your child's toy collection.

Little People Animal Farm
by alexp41402 ,Oct 09 '03
Pros: Helps teach animal sounds. The animals are a perfect size for little hands.
Cons: None
My son got the Little People Animal Farm for his 1st birthday. He immediately loved it. First all he did was take the animals out of the stalls and carry them around. He then started sitting down and putting them in and out of the stalls. Now he "talks" to them and makes all the sounds they make. He loves animals and this is the perfect toy for him. All the kids in his playgroup also love playing with the farm.

Daughter outgrew it before she got it
by yanadryn ,Jan 05 '07
Pros: assembly, colors, animals, textures
Cons: wrong age group, sounds
The toy is nice, works well, easy to assemble and install batteries. But my daughter who just turned 4 got it for Christmas this year and is already bored with it.
I think if the animal noises were signaled by which animal you were playing with, it would be more interesting. As it is, when you open the gates it makes a 'moo' sound even if you are playing with a pig or a horse. My daughter didn't like that part. She knows all the animals and their sounds and it irritated her.
She uses the silo to store other toys. It has ended up being an over priced storage bin.
I think this toy would be better suited for toddlers, not pre-schoolers. I know my daughter would have gotten more use and enjoyment out of it when she was 1 or 2, but not 3 or 4.
