amuse themselves for longer periods of time when they are forced
to use their own imagination with a toy......
We originally bought this for a friend's son's first birthday but by the time we got it home my son (18 months at the time) was so interested in it we kept it for him. He would sit on the floor and play with it for what seemed like hours at a time,...
My older son received the Little People Farm as a gift when he was 9 months old and he (now almost 3) and his younger brother (15 months) still play with it to this day.
The set comes with several farm animal favorites: horse, cow, sheep,...
Pros: Colorful, sturdy, durable Cons: Needs more animals
I bought this toy last spring to go along with a farm animals theme that I was doing in my classroom. I thought that it would be used for that week and then put away until the next time the farm theme rolled around. WOW was I wrong!
Pros: cute, safe, fun, durable, lots to do, child never tires of it Cons: small parts can end up in the bottom of the toy box
Last Christmas my then almost three year old son, Brandon, received the Fisher Price Little People Animal Sounds Farm from his grandparents. Opening the toy up and starting the play time right away showed that this is one of those toys that adults...
Pros: Colorful, plastic, stores in one piece Cons: would like to get more people and animals for it
I got this toy for the grandbabies because I knew they would love them. When my grandbaby was in the hospital her older sister (2) played with this all the time in the playroom at children's hospital.
Pros: durable classic Cons: the doors don't "moo" like the old version
We gave this farm to our daughter for Christmas this year (she's 2). She's completely obsessed with animals so we thought this would be perfect. We were right! Christmas morning came along, she opened this first, and didn't want to open anything...
This is grate at home but especially in the classroom. As we explore the farm and animals that live there, the kids can see and touch. It might not be the real thing but this is as close as some kids get. It has your basic farm animals. They are cute and...
Pros: durable, encourages imaginary play Cons: none
I bought this Little People Farm for my niece for her first birthday, at the request of her mother (my sister). I am glad that I did because for the last 3 months she has played with it almost non-stop!
Wow, what can I say about this farm. My daughter loved all the animals when she first got it at 1 1/2. She learned all of her animal sounds and played with this farm and moo'ed, cock-a-doodle and meow'ed with them all. GREAT for all kids tho. ...
Pros: All around wonderful toy for fun and learning. Cons: A handle for carrying.

Our 3 year old son got his Little People Farm last Christmas. He absolutely loves it. I think one of the reasons he has enjoyed the toy so much is the fact that he also has the Little People School Bus, Main Street and train sets. All of these toys...
Pros: sturdy, no assembly required, lots of pieces Cons: Parents need to help little ones keep track of all the pieces
This is the first Little People toy that my daughter received for her first birthday. Three months later, she still plays with it daily. She spends hours just putting the animals in the stalls and taking them out again.
Pros: teaches animals, sounds, and great for developing imagination Cons: no noises
I got this set for my one year old son for his birthday, and I love it. More importantly, he loves it too. It is a wonderful educational toy in that is has the most "high profile" animals. This way, children can learn animals and their...
We have had this wonderful farm for five years now and it rarely spends much time put away in the closet! My son and his friends are always playing with it.
It is also one of the most durable toys we have purchased! It has been thrown,...
Pros: variety of animals and ways to play so it holds interest Cons: large and sometimes inconvenient to store
My son loves this farm! We got it for him for his first birthday in October. He still isn't tired of playing with it! Our favorite game to play with it, is to find the different animals and make the sound that animal makes. He doesn't repeat the sounds...
My son recieved this farm set as a Christmas present. He loves it. I can't even put it away because he uses it so much. He will sit and play by myself for an hour at a time, which if you have kids you know that is a long time for a 14month old. It...
Pros: Big and sturdy, promotes imaginitive play and is just fun Cons: More animals and accessories would have been nice
It seems that every Christmas or birthday for my almost 5 year old daughter has a theme. One year we had a Dora the Explorer Christmas, last year was a JoJo's Circus birthday. This was also the case one Christmas when my daughter was a year and a ...

Pros: wonderful animals, great tractor and trailer Cons: NO MOOING, No self storage container any more.
Okay, who else misses the MOOO that sounded when you opened the bottom of the old Little People barn? I know I do, but my son sure doesn't! We have both and my son HATES the mooing of the old bottom. In fact, he makes me open it, he's frightened to say...

There's a little farmer in my house who loves this toy. She is twenty-months old and plays with this all the time. As a child, I had this farm, which was a little different. But, this one is so much better than my old one.
Pros: animal sounds, lots of versatility, cute figures, folds for storage Cons: no Mrs. Farmer Jed!!

Pros: Great fun for young and old, wonderful life like sounds Cons: no dog, farmer doesn't make a noise
I remember having one of these when I was a child. I had so much fun with mine I knew when I had my first child she would have to have one. When I first saw it I didn't like it to much, then I put the battery's in. It makes 5 different animal sounds...
Pros: Great imagination toy. Cons: To many pieces and hard to store.
I found this toy is really good for imagination and fantasy play. It allows children to think about and make scenarios up. I found that my child was taking more interest in animals and how they live since he received this toy. It also helped me to...
Pros: Sturdy when sat on, keeps a 12 month old's interest Cons: Only one bale of hay, no dog or cat

Pros: Adorable, realistic noises, durable, and educational Cons: small pieces that can get lost, we wish it came with more animals
My son received this farm for his first birthday and I promptly decided it was going in the "wait until a little later" closet. With so many little pieces, I thought that he was just too young to enjoy this and I wanted to be sure that the pieces were...
Pros: A great toy Cons: A few little toys to keep us with

This Farm House was the first "Little People" toy I bought. I got it for my son when he was two. He really loved it. He would sit and play quietly with it for a long time. The farm house opens up and there are little places to put the cute little...
Pros: A GREAT learning tool for toddlers.
Not too noisy! Cons: When assembled does not fit back into box nicely.
This toy works better than putting a Barney tape in the VCR!! Let's face it, babies like little pieces! And this toy has just the right size and number of them. The barn is kept at Grandma's house and our one year old will sit down and play with the...
We bought the new Farm for Christmas 2000. It is the updated version, as the older one is no longer available. My daughter enjoys it a lot, but I do have a few problems with it. Firstly, the animals don't make the sounds, their proper positions make...

Pros: Promotes creativity, imagination Cons: Horse and cow can be confusing to a small child, bale of hay and pumpkins can be hard to put into their slots

Pros: Makes cute animal sounds that my daughter loves! Cons: Has too many open spaces for the items inside to fall out!
My one-year-old daughter just received this toy as a gift for her first birthday! When we took it out of the box to play with, she was enthralled! She took all of the pieces out and inspected them and then put them all back. When we finally put the...
Pros: helps children learn about animals Cons: none

This farm was in my classroom when I moved into it in August. I did not particularly think that much about it. Simply thought I would put it in a center.
WELL!!! No need to put this IN a center, it IS a center unto itself with my class! ...
Pros: Fun imaginative toy. Cons: Not very sturdy, those farm sounds.
Of course my children had to have this because they have just about every other Little People toy there is. When I purchased it I knew that it was going to be another one of those toys that made too much noise and generally got on my nerves, but then...
Pros: its fisher price! Cons: all the little stickers to put on it.
I bought this farm for my son for his second birthday. He has always been a big fan of Little People, and is obsessed with Old McDonald so I thought this would be perfect, and really it was. He just loves all of the animals, although he is a bit partial ...
Pros: Engaging sounds and music, interchangeable parts, fun farm theme Cons: Expensive, bulky
My youngest son was an early talker. However, the subject of his precocious verbalizations was a bit atypical. Instead of the usual "Dada" or "Mama", my son started his vocabulary with animal names. "Gorilla" was his first word (weird, huh?), followed...
Pros: invokes pretend play Cons: hard for little ones to close sometimes

Pros: lots of animals, opportunities for creative play, learning animal sounds Cons: Door doesn't moo like mine did when I was little!
A lot of things have changed about Little People since I was a child. For one thing, the Little People themselves are bigger -- I guess the old ones were choking hazards. And the Little People Barn, while still a barrel of fun, is missing an important...
Pros: tons of imaginative play Cons: i miss the tracter and silo from when i was little
I am usually not a big fan of electronic toys but I figured since this was all that was available I could just leave out the batteries. Until I learned how educational the toy is with the batteries. The only thing this toy does is make not to loud or ...
Pros: it stimulates those little minds! Cons: none
I wanted a toy for my daughter's first birthday that would not only be fun for her to play with, but also get her imagination flowing. This toy seems to be doing just that! This was the first toy she's gotten where she was more interested in the toy...
Pros: Fun for kids Cons: Isn't what we remember playing with
For those of you who remember having the Little People Farm as kids, don't expect it to be the same. Fisher - Price has made some changes to this old childhood standard, some for the better and some not so good.
Pros: Encourages Imaginative Play Cons: Not as durable as most other Fisher-Price
As I have stated in previous reviews, my children own more Fisher-Price than any other brand of toy. The Little People Farm is no exception to that collection. I like it because it reminds me of similar Fisher-Price barn that I had as a child. It is...
Pros: Child can sit on the barn and not break it!! Cons: No mama/baby relationship
Does your little tike love animals?? My son, Austen, does, and he received the Fisher-Price Farm for his first Christmas. The Little People Farm from Fisher-Price has enough cheerful vinyl animals for eight verses of "Old MacDonald," plus a...
Pros: comes with a variety of animals Cons: doesn't make any noise
The Little People Farm is a great toy for any child. This was a toy I received as a gift for my son when he was one year old. The farm comes with many animals; horse, cow, chick, rooster, cat, sheep and more. The farm also comes with pumpkins, hay,...
This is a very sturdy toy that has been played with countless times in our house. We bought this for our son for his first birthday (he's now 2) and it has been one of the best toys. The farm folds out and the interior has animal stalls and a hay loft....
Pros: Cute farm animals, well made toy Cons: Child needs an imagination to play for any length of time
What is it with little ones and animal sounds? My son is 15 months old and every book he wants to read seems to feature farm animals. He just wants to "Moo" and "Baa" at the pictures. So the Little People Farm seemed like the ideal...
What a fun, imaginative, and classic toy! The Little People Farm is just a wonderful gift for toddlers and small children! I have to admit, I do miss the "moo" when the doors open...but when that cheerful tractor and hitched wagon pull out...
We got this Fisher price Little peoples Farm for Christmas. I also had this toy when I was a child, except they have modified it very much since then! My three year old son and my 18 month old son love to play with this toy. They play together with...
I bought the Little People farm for my son for his 2nd birthday. It was one of the first gifts he opened and he didn't want to open the rest - he just wanted to play with the Animals. I bought it because I noticed he plays with it everyday at daycare and...
Pros: Great way to teach animals and sounds they make. Cons: The barn door no longer "Moo's"
I can still remember playing with my own Fisher Price farm many moons ago. So when my daughter was big enough for this classic toy, I ran right out and purchased it for her. It's still a great toy, but I'm not sure it's as durable as mine was, as the...
Call me old-fashioned but I like the old Fisher Price farm and silo set. The pieces weren't all chunky. They actually looked like real animals and people. The new animals don't even move their legs they are stationary.
The old barn was...
Pros: lots of fun and animal sounds! Cons: not very durable and has lots of pieces that can easily be lost
My son received The Little People Farm for his first birthday as a gift. He is still too young to really be interested in it, but my three year old daughter finds it very amusing!
Pros: it looks pretty fun Cons: it's not fun, though
The little people farm loads of fun! There are "little people" as they like to be called, and there are animals, a tractor, a crop of veggies, and some cages for the lovely animals. There are however, some problems with this set. First of all,...
Pros: allows creative play. Very durable Cons: none really
The Little People Farm was recomend to me by a good friend who's sons loved it. I was thrilled when I found it on sale. What a great toy. A big red barn full of stalls a loft for the farm animals. It comes with a cow, horse, sheep, goat, bunny, cat...
Pros: Very colorful. My daughter likes it. She can use her imagination. Cons: Get tired of Old McDonald song. Construction is kind of flimsy.
We bought this Little People Farm for our daughter for Christmas. We thought she would like the Little People and the sounds that the toy makes would help her learn about animal sounds. We were right. She is learning about the sounds. They get kind...
Pros: Mega-cute, Fisher Price sturdiness. Cons: Individual fence pieces are useless and potentially dangerous, didn't hold my child's attention.
Awwww, they HAVE to have that!
Seems like the moment you get pregnant...well, the moment you find out you are pregnant, you begin to develop the "cute-itis" disease. This doesn't go away after the baby is born, or even when they get older....
Pros: Sort of reminds me of the good old days Cons: Sort of reminds me of the good old days
I really want to hate this toy. It sort of reminds me of the good old days, of the fantastic little people farm I used to have, where the animals and the people didn't actually look like animals and people. I'd love to hate this toy. But my son loves it....
Pros: Lots of accessories and vividly colored Cons: dangerous lower barn window gets toddlers foot stuck
I purchased this farm for my little girl a little over a year ago. I chose it because it came with more animals and accessories than its competition. My kids loved it until one day a few months after we had it, my little girl, age 2 started screaming....
Pros: Sturdy construction, bright colors & farm animals! Cons: Too many small pieces for a small child to keep as a set.
We had purchased the Fisher Price Farm for our first son when he was a toddler. While it does look cute and entertaining to an adult, it is not long at all before it is ignored by the child. It’s only uses being a dust collector or...
Pros: Great for toddler's imagination, pieces aren't a choking hazard and are durable. Cons: none
My daughter loves this set. At 19 months, she can really enjoy this set and I don't have to worry about her breaking the pieces or choking on them. They wash off very easily!
When you put the farm animals in their proper places the barn makes animal noises. Open the cow's gate and you hear a moo sound and set the pig in his pin and it oinks. There are animal sounds for the horse, sheep, and chicken. The barn has a little knob for toddlers to turn that lifts the farmer's bed to make him wake up and go into the field.
What I love about the Little People sets is that you can always buy extra animals, people, or more sets that will work with all the other sets!
A timeless addition to your child's toy collection by jwpearce ,Apr 03 '06
Pros: Very durable, entertaining, parts can be interchanged with other sets, Cons: Take up a lot of storage space.
We purchased this toy over four years ago for our son. He played with it for many, many hours and never damaged a thing. He adored the sounds and the moving parts (you can flip people out of bed and the chicken has a nest that turns over, small details that just cracked my son up for hours on end).
This product held up so well that we saved it for our baby daughter, who now is enjoying it as much as our son did. We love the child-safe large pieces. It really encouraged her to start sitting up to play. She's only seven months old, but is already enjoying this toy thoroughly and I'm sure will for many years.
Over this is a very high quality toy that really keeps the little ones' attention. The people and animal are usable in other sets, which adds to the fun for your own "little people."
This timeless classic will make a great part of your child's toy collection.
Little People Animal Farm by alexp41402 ,Oct 09 '03
Pros: Helps teach animal sounds. The animals are a perfect size for little hands. Cons: None
My son got the Little People Animal Farm for his 1st birthday. He immediately loved it. First all he did was take the animals out of the stalls and carry them around. He then started sitting down and putting them in and out of the stalls. Now he "talks" to them and makes all the sounds they make. He loves animals and this is the perfect toy for him. All the kids in his playgroup also love playing with the farm.
Daughter outgrew it before she got it by yanadryn ,Jan 05 '07
Pros: assembly, colors, animals, textures Cons: wrong age group, sounds
The toy is nice, works well, easy to assemble and install batteries. But my daughter who just turned 4 got it for Christmas this year and is already bored with it.
I think if the animal noises were signaled by which animal you were playing with, it would be more interesting. As it is, when you open the gates it makes a 'moo' sound even if you are playing with a pig or a horse. My daughter didn't like that part. She knows all the animals and their sounds and it irritated her.
She uses the silo to store other toys. It has ended up being an over priced storage bin.
I think this toy would be better suited for toddlers, not pre-schoolers. I know my daughter would have gotten more use and enjoyment out of it when she was 1 or 2, but not 3 or 4.
