Pros: Easy to setup, easy to use! Well lit buttons and easy to read LCD Cons: Concerns about long term durability
How many remotes do you have in your home? On my last count i had 5! 5 remotes, all to do different things so that i can watch my tv, or a dvd! Isn't that crazy? Not only do these remotes control our devices, they control us as well! Oh the panic when ...
Pros: looks cute, price (if it is $35). Cons: time consuming, software, layout, effectiveness.
I remember using a Harmony remote control at a friend's house about a year ago, and felt very underwhelmed by the experience. It was one of the top models with the color screen and all. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I have not had a good ...
Pros: Easy to use, configurable, light, easy to read. Cons: Somewhat cumbersome programming, Activities require long term aiming, short rated battery life.
I picked up this Universal Remote when I purchased a Surround System for my home this Holiday Season. My existing setup consisted of a Samsung 720p DLP TV set, a cable box, and an XBox 360. I knew I was going to be adding a Yamaha A/V Receiver to this ...
Pros: Sleek design, easy set up, great help feature Cons: Need to get use to the delay response from this remote.
My wife bought me this remote for X-mas of 2006 since I kept nagging her that I wanted it. We have a 37 LCD TV (Dell), a mini-home theater system (Phillips), a cable box from iO (Cablevision), and - of course my Xbox 360. That was a total ...
Pros: Sleek design, quality feel operates a dozen different devices and links them together. Cons: Small numeric keys, small LCD screen, software a little tricky at first.
Finally a universal remote that will actually mimic all of the operations of another remote for under $100! Physically this remote has a sleek design and a quality feel to it. All of the buttons are clearly backlit and easy to see. Once the remote ...
Pros: Consolidate remotes with no known loss of features/functions. Cons: Activities button doesn't always work, channel and volume buttons are small
What attracted me to this remote was the fact that I could get rid of the four remotes and with a few presses on this harmony remote customize my setup (we have a plasma hdtv with a number of video inputs, av receiver, dvd, xbox 360 and Dishnetwork HD ...
Pros: Backlit, Easy and painless to set up, WILL replace any remote. Cons: Sluggish response time until tweaked. High power usage.
Ok, so reading the previous 3 reviews... I've concluded that one guy is intelligent enough. And he's absolutely correct. The remote is a bit delayed, and a bit sluggish on response time compared to the factory remotes. HOWEVER this is easily adjusted ...
Pros: Maximum functionality; Customizable to the N'th degree; Relatively user friendly; Very Xbox 360 friendly Cons: This remote could provide another opportunity for the "Idiot's Guide" company.
Depending upon how well you program this remote and are knowledgeable of how to use it, it can be either a blessing or a burden. Being able to click a button to activate a system that would normally require 3 remotes is very nice, the only thing is if ...
Pros: Gave reason to post on Epinions Cons: Waste of time, money and bandaids!
This piece of crap is touted to be able to control whatever you have or will get in the future but is unable to control a TV with a Tivo hooked up to a DVD player/recorder! I actually have a Sony Digital Living System PC, XBox 360, DVD recorder and Tivo ...
Pros: It should replace all of your remotes Cons: Too hard to set up.
I spent about 2 hours trying to set it up for 4 devices and couldn't get it. You have to use their software which logs you out after 2 min of not doing anything -and it doesn't save whatever you did. You have to "update" the remote every time you change something on it. This takes about 4 minutes.
Tech support is a joke. They are always closed, and if they are open they do not answer (I stop holding at 15 min).
Pros: Feel of unit, price, works with an x-box Cons: Batteries, some buttons need firm push
This is one fine piece of electronic gadgetry, it works just as it is supposed to with a little tweaking, I had it set up in just over 3 hours I would highly recommend this remote considering the price, it is a great deal, and if you use a pair of scissors to open the package you wont need any band aids
Good concept, Not so good remote by ralphiorio ,Jan 12 '09
Pros: Nicely lit screen and buttons, works great when it works. Cons: Rarely does what you want on the first try.
Lets make this plain and simple. I couldn't install the software cd until I called logitech, which told me I had to download the new software online. I finally got it set up with the not so easy to use software program, and my big expectations went down the drain. It sometimes works the way it is supposed to, but 8 out of 10 times it does not. I have to hit the help now button and go through the instructions to get it right. I have a cable box, t.v., an xbox 360, and stereo system. That said, I still rather have this remote and go through those additional steps it needs to complete a task than to have 2,3 or 4 remotes out and about.
Sleek Design with Sluggish Setup by bige311 ,Jan 14 '06
Pros: Sleek design, Nice software (although Slow), has any device you can imagine available Cons: must have PC and be tech saavvy to set up, set up is sluggish
At $120 this was defenitly the most expensive remote I have ever had. This thing is stunning and sexy to hold in your hand, very sleek and colorful device with the Xbox 360 design and colorway integrated to the design. The software is intuitve and well built, although it is quite a bit sluggish. Im not sure if there is alot of integration to the website but this sofware crawls along and I have a cable connection. My first attempt to have this baby control the main entertainment system, did not have this remote batting .1000 more like .267. The OS "trys" to anticipate what your wishes will be, for me at least the OS misses the mark. Now that I have the remote in "The Mens Lounge" (the place where I like to hang out) this beauty is controlling my modest system nicely.
UPDATE: I have grew to regret this purchase, this remote is super slow to respond to your button presses, and never seems to know if your system is on or off. My freinds laugh everytime i get up to turn things off manually and say "Nice $130 remote!!")
