I have had these for about a week or two and like how they have performed so far. It is a really great deal for cheap surround that still sounds good. They are easy to setup, take up very little room, can go into 5.1 surround sound even on 2 channel with ...
Pros: Sounds and looks great Cons: Exposed subwoofer could be easily damaged
A couple of months ago, I told my wife that I wanted to use my hard-earned Epinions Income Share check to get something for me, rather than her snatch it up to deposit in our account. She actually agreed, so I said that I wanted to get some ...
Pros: Excellent clean smooth sound. Surround sound. High quality. Cons: May need additional speaker wire for rear channels.
Recently purchased the LOGITECH X-540 5.1 Speaker System. Why I purchased it: We needed a SMALL system for our apartment, as we have downsized. I had purchased an inexpensive REGENT 2.1 system which was better than the Plasma TV speakers, but ...
Purchased the X-540 computer speakers from Sam's Club after hearing an older/similar model at my parents house. This model includes 5 speakers (including the bass box). This product is convenient and superb. The product packaging is secure and ...
Pros: Great sound quality, perfect for PC, matrix mode, 2RCA-to-TRS splitter included Cons: RCA cables connecting speakers to sub/amp could be longer
I bought these shortly after buying my new Dell Inspiron laptop, as the laptop speakers just didn't cut it. I am very happy with my decision. The sound quality is great and is sufficiently loud for my uses, which include gaming and music. I'm a bit limited on speaker placement though, especially the rear speakers, since the wires for the speakers are just a tad short for my liking. Subwoofer is smaller than others, but it hits hard. Headphone pass-through is a convenient feature, but be sure to turn the system off before plugging or unplugging headphones. Matrix mode works well too. There's also a splitter included to easily connect red/white RCA "phono" audio cables from TV's, stereos, and what not. The subwoofer seems like it's not quite as loud as it was when I bought the system eight months ago, but I may have just grown used to it, or it may be just something to be expected of such a system.
These speakers are great! by tony_stanco ,Aug 07 '08
Pros: Rich, clear, real sound rivaling some home systems! Cons: Nothing I can think of.
There is no better sound quality out there in this price range! I read all the hype and figured it was just hype, not true. The hype is real! I would say these speakers should be the standard for PC use. They are that good!
Of course you could spend much more than I spent, $78.00, including shipping. Amazing quality at an amazing price!
Sound great... For a while by ericscott2004 ,Nov 20 '07
Pros: Great Sound. Cons: Short Life.
These speakers sound amazing for music, gaming, whatever you want to listen to. I like that there are five speakers because you can arrange them around your desk and have music coming from different directions. But I had these for less than a year before one of the speakers quit working. So now I have to go buy some more (not logitech) speakers. I don't know if this is common or I just got a bad speaker, but it may be something to look out for. It kind of sucks to spend $100 on speakers and then have them break within the year.
I am totally impressed with the quality and sound production for the price of $100. For a computer room and gaming applications it suffices. To improve on this set of speakers you would have to spend much more money. The bass is not overwhelmingly powerful but it is more than adequate for most applications. The best thing about the bass is that it fits into the linearity of the frequency curve. It produces the sound accurate enough for good reproduction of music and game sounds. I am rather picky and cannot believe I am totally satisfied with the expenditure of only $100.
Pros: Good audio for occasional use
Matrix 2 channel surround is a good benefit Cons: DOES NOT PLAY DOLBY, THX OR DTS!
NO RECEIVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NO RECIEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cons:
What really got me angry was the
fact that these speakers didn't play true surround sound. I love the fact that I didn't completely waste all my money on these but I wouldn't call them 5.1 though. I would call it a 2 channel surround sound. Now I have to but a 500 dollor receiver with THX and everything because... THESE SPEAKERS DO NOT PLAY DOLBY! That is what bothered me a lot. I thought the speakers could play Dolby Digital! That it was I hated.
Pros:
The Matrix button is good for people who can't tell the difference with true surround sound and 2 channel surround sound. Best so called "surround sound" speakers on the planet!
Pros: Great High and Mid Frequencies, Matrix Technology, Low Price, Great Looks. Cons: None
This 5.1 is nothing short of amazing. The satellites give you rich, full sound, and the subwoofer has enough power to start an earthquake. These are Logitech's first speakers with their Frequency Directed Dual Drivers, which give you a uniform sound that gets rid of uneven response and hot spots that many modern speakers have. Also, Logitech's Matrix Surround Sound technology allows you to get 5.1 surround sound from a 2-channel source with the push of a button. These features make these speakers the best 5.1 value system out there.
I've been searching for speakers under $100 for about 2 months, and during my search, Logitech released these. I just couldn't find a better deal! I compared these with speakers from brands like Creative, and these give you the best bang for you buck.
I also compared these to Logitech's older 5.1 system, the X-530, and these are much better. If you're looking for an amazing set of speakers but don't want to spend an insane amount of money, look no further, because these are exactly what you're looking for.
