Pros: Easy Install, Wall Mountable, Removable Grills Remote Operation, Incredible Sound, Dual Chamber Sub. Cons: Rear Speaker Cords Could Be Longer, Sound Is Not 100% Accurate
I bought this system and was nothing but impressed with it! As you can see this is a 5.1 surround system, but it is unlike any other 5.1 system out there. In this review I will explain many of the features this system has. I want to cover installation ...
Pros: great sound, powerful bass, decent price, nice control unit Cons: cords could be longer, subwoofer is heavy

Logitech's z5300 delivers full quality sound by cpupartsplz ,Jun 29 '05
Pros: Great bass. Clear treble. Great highs and lows. Wired remote with tuning capabilities. Cons: Remote is wired. Center speaker lacks power.
I have owned these speakers for about two years now. They were a gift and greatly appreciated as I was lacking complete sound when trying to compete with friends that I have a better audio setup.
The z5300 has 3 front speakers (L,R,Center) as well as 2 rear speakers (L,R). In addition there is a monster subwoofer that delivers amazing QUALITY bass. Not just bass to fill the air, but SQ as some would refer to it.
At first I had trouble getting any sound from the front center speakers, but then I unhooked the others and listened to just this one and it was infact delivering sound, just not as loud as the others.
Overall this system is a great quality package comparative to the Klipsch setup.
Pros: Ok for the price if you like the bass curve and the bass response. Cons: Poor linearity and waveform reproduction
I rate speakers on frequency linearity and accurate waveform reproduction. For the price, this set of speakers is good. I also listened to the Logitech X-540 speakers and while they do not have as much bass, they have better linearity and waveform reproduction. I chose the X-540 speakers for my computer room. I was able to listen to both sets of speakers side by side at a CompUSA store and the Z-5300-E speakers did not have an impressive sound in the particular location where they were demonstrated. The bass speaker needs to have the right breathing port size so the speaker operates at the proper enclosure resonance. This system sounds like it is out of resonance and the bass is loose. You might be able to restrict the air port and tighten it up. I chose the X-540 speakers and am totally impressed when playing the game BioShock or music.
bad sound with an subwoofer that rocks. by kudou_shinichi ,Aug 12 '06
Pros: excellent subwoofer Cons: bad midrange, bad highs
The Logitech Z-5200E 5.1 speaker system surprised me.Not surprised me by the quality of sound, but by the crappy sound it produces.I was amazed by THX actually giving this system a THX certified system!
Now about the system. The sound this system produce is very low end quality. It does not sound with much fidelity. The sound quality is like the sound from a TV except with a subwoofer. But the subwoofer was a total exception!Man,I am amazed by how much the bass the subwoofer gave! It's only 6.5 inch and when I put hip hop music on,oh my god!!It shaked my room at normal volume at normal bass level.you can feel the floor rumble!I think this is maybe the only pros about this product.
I would not recommend this product to people because the sound is just not good enough for the price. If you're looking for good sound, buy some other systems.
Awesome set of speakers! by snoopinator ,Dec 21 '06
Pros: Extremely high quality sound, speakers have built in tweeters Cons: Sub size
These speakers are absolutely awesome! I have owned them for a year and a half and have had zero problems. The speakers' cone is solid metal and serves as a tweeter to provide crisp highs. The individual satellites do not seem that powerful but do provide crisp highs. I have a soundblaster audigy 2 zs. This drastically improves the sound quality of this system allowing the bass quality to rival that of our one thousand dollar home audio system. With this sound card, I have pushed these speakers to their limit(which is hard to do) and have been extremely satisfied. The bass is so powerful and goes so low that you will feel like the sub is 5 times larger. Like I said, I have pushed these speakers to their limits and I like a lot of bass. Not a fuse nor speaker had been blown or damaged. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone who is in the market for a higher end computer audio system. I have owned many sets of computer speakers from both logitech and altec lansing and these by far are the best sounding and performing.
The Logitech Z-5300e delivers on all counts, with a sleek new look featuring silver speaker accents and removable black cloth grilles.More at OfficeMax
