Pros: Less busy than Heathrow. Good signage. Good duty free shops (choice and prices). Cons: Distance from central London? Not so many non-stop, direct flights as Heathrow?
Summary: All of London's airports are strictly not in London but that's no bad thing when you take into account the size of the airports (Gatwick and Heathrow. It's really a bit of stretch to describe Stansted as in London. Please check a map/atlas for ... read more

Pros: Good serivec, ultra-fast baggage handling... Cons: ... very slow passport control, not much choice of shops etc, confusing car parks
Summary: Its ironic that I lived for 25 years right next door to Heathrow Airport but have flown out of London Gatwick most of the time. Blame the vagaries of package holidays. My most recent holiday was also from LGW. Its not a bad little ... read more

Pros: Not in London, so easy to get to.
Cons: Very large airport if it is your fist time.
Summary: Gatwick airport is like coming home for me. Each year I visit family in England. I have been back 15 times in the past 14 years. Why do I choose Gatwick? Well it is close to my Dad.
