Pros: An easy, fast way to get around London Cons: Can be a bit confusing; trains not very frequent
We traveled to London in December and relied exclusively on the Underground to get around. In general we were very pleased with it, although we later found the system in Paris to be far superior, which is why I can't give the London Underground a full ...

As a resident of the second largest metropolis in the USA, I get green with envy when I visit places that have a decent public transit system. Los Angeles transit system is equivalent to what a medium sized city (say Kansas City) should have, not ...

When we went to India in December 2005, we decided to stop in London to sort of break up the trip. Prior to leaving Kansas, USA my father and I looked up the different ways to get around London. Taxi: EXPENSIVE! To get from one place to another ...

Pros: Cheap, easy to use, safe, and clean. Cons: early closing time, and occasional breakdowns or station closings.
As an American, we tend to take for granted our main objective..."convenience". We rely on drive-thru late night Wendy's junior bacon cheeseburgers, and ideal parking spaces right in front of our homes. Well, folks....when in Rome, do as the Romans do. ...

I've been on New York's Subway, Boston's T, Toronto's Metro, Philly's SEPTA, Paris' Metro, and many more, but no other rapid transit system can compare to the London Underground. The clean, easy-to-use system makes getting to London's beautiful sites...
When compared to the mass transit systems in Hong Kong and Tokyo the London system is horrific. Now I am not trying to explain why this is or looking for an explaination, I am just stating a fact. Staff blackmail the city with strikes (whilst being ...
The only way to travel through London! by stranieri ,Oct 24 '03
Pros: Inexpensive, reliable, not too complicated to use and pretty safe. Cons: Closes early (12am)
The Underground is cheap and fast (except occasionally when the Circle/District line is feeling cranky). For the most part it is safe and the trains are well maintained. Get a one day travel pass if you intend to use the Underground more than twice in one day - it is cheaper. Beware for pick pocketing (especially at King's Cross and Victoria). Great alternative to finding a cab especially on a Friday or Saturday night.
