Pros: Great color, easy application, nice smell, no streaks Cons: Slow to dry
After a bout with melanoma at age 25, my days of sun worshiping were over. Over the years I have tried numerous self-tanners to be left with only streaky, crackly, yellow looking skin. My husband even asked one time if I thought I might have jaundice. ...

Pros: Color is great, no staining Cons: Sticky, never dries, become freckly as it fades
I'm a very fair, gray-eyed, Irish, redhead with my father's "ruddy" complexion (known as rosaetia on middle aged women). I can tan in a booth if I start slow and work at it for around 6 weeks. Knowing this I have to say that this product gave me a great ...

Great color but greasy
by gb1966 ,May 20 '05
Pros: Cost, Great color Cons: Greasy, sticky, smell
I have the typical fair Irish skin. After a few years battling w/ trying to tan in the sun and tanning beds, I give up. I decided I wanted to try a self tanning lotion. I'm hoping they've come a long way than what they used to be when I last used it in the 80's. Turning you a horrible shade of orange.
So I bought Loreal self tanning lotion for light/medium skin. The color it gave me is fantastic. The downside is, I hate the way it smells and feels. It smells like sunscreen and is sticky and greasy.
For me the color takes a while to develop but it looks like I've been on vacation. No more sun and tanning beds for me. I just wish it dried faster and get rid of that stinky smell and stickiness.

The best I have seen so far
by lryan361 ,Jun 22 '04
Pros: Looks very natural, no orange lines, smells good. Cons: None
I have tried many other self tanning products but so far this is by far the best. It does not leave lines and does not turn orange. The color to this self tanner is so natural looking. It wears off in about 3 to 4 days. At the beginning you need to apply it a couple of times and then once you get the color you like put it on twice a week. I am very impressed with it. I also like that you can get this at Walgreens or Wal-Mart and do not have to go to specialty stores.

Love it
by shopaholic18 ,Oct 13 '04
Pros: nice color, good smell, no streaks! Cons: none!
Loreal makes 3 types of Sublime self-tanner, the only kind recommended for face is this one. It's great because it comes in light to medium for fairer skin and it smells surprisingly good. It comes out white and looks like any other lotion. I applied it in a circular motion and in about 30 minutes I felt completely dry and ready to put my clothes back on. It takes a while for the color to appear, (I put this on around 8pm and didn't see the results until I woke up in the morning)but it's really a nice shade. I recently used the spray tan booth at Hollywood Tans and it produced a tan, but I think you really need to take off work for a week and say you went to the Bahamas to pull it off. This is a really nice shade of gold and it adds a bit of flush to your skin that really looks healthy. No complaints here!

The best self tanner
by misskitcat ,Jul 08 '07
Pros: natural color, white lotion. Cons: the smell
This was the first self tanner I tried. And I love it. It gave me a great natural color and the lotion is white, not brown. It moisturizes and has a SPF 15. It's easy to apply and you see the results after 1 application. The only bad thing is the smell.

O my gosh...
by stephz128 ,Jun 26 '06
Pros: none Cons: everything!
I loved this when I tried it. I really did. Now, it looks like i have leprosy. I am all speckled and flaky...and trust me, I followed the directions exactly. I don't know what to do, but my skin looks awful, and my summer is completely ruined. I wear long sleeves and jeans all day, and its 80 degrees outside, cuz I'm too embarrassed to show my skin. If anyone knows how to make this go away shy of just scrubbing the hell out of myself, please help!
