Pros: Mascara does perform well; primer brush is fantastic Cons: terrible mascara comb--caused clumping; cumbersome handle on applicators.
If you think Mascara and Primer combos were just a passing fancy, think again. L'Oreal, following on the popularity of their Double Extend primer/mascara combo, has come out with yet another: Volume Shocking Mascara. And shocking it is, ...
Pros: Volume. Long and thick lashes from a tube. Primer is awesome. Cons: Price; You have to practice awhile before you get the hang of using the applicator
I like to try new mascaras that claim they are going to add volume to my lashes. I never expect the results that I see in the mascara ads because I've read that they use the mascaras on false lashes to make them look so dramatic. My lashes are short ...
Pros: Primer is great, the huge mascara tube could double as a centerpiece. Cons: Clumps, produces huge ugly spiky lashes, looks awful
Well, Aishwarya Rai, the lovely Loreal lady who models this eye-popping mascara, may have had those amazing bushy lashes to fringe her ridiculously gorgeous eyes, but after trying this mascara for myself, I looked like a cactus. This is probably one of ...
Pros: It makes your eyelashes fuller, and appear longer immediately. Long lasting, and easily accessible. Cons: It takes a little practice, and can get a little thick if not careful.
I have really light hair so I'm constantly looking for mascaras that make my eyelashes darker and longer. I want something to make my eyes stand out, and be noticed. I saw this mascara advertised on television and decided to try it. I wasn't expecting ...
Pros: Lengthens and thickens lashes, easy to apply Cons: If over applied you get spider lashes, doesn't thicken as much as I'd like
I notice that a lot of people don't seem to like this mascara, but as for me, I think it's great. It's not as good as some mascaras I've used, but still great. The container it comes in is quite odd looking, but it seems to hold a lot of mascara on both ...
Pros: good name Cons: bad product. clumpy, thick and guie.
i buy the loreal pamoramic curl anyway so thought id try this new improved version designed to make my lashes thicker and make them look as sexy as the girls on tv. i went to my local boots and paid £9.99 for the black loreal volume shocking double ...
Pros: This mascara gives you long lashes like the commercial. It needs practice. Cons: tiny bit clumpy but once you get the hang of it, it's fantastic!!!
This mascara is by far better than the Maybelline XXL volume! It is the best mascara I've ever used. You just need practice. It creates a lot of volume and lengthening, and you will get lashes just like the girl in the commercial (Aishwarya Rai).

Pros: packaging Cons: the applicator comb, price
I ran out of mascara and had to choose between Cover Girl's Professional Mascara and Fantastic Lash, both in black, and Loreal Volume Shocking. The latter was pricey so I decided against it. I found a coupon and decided to splurge. Of course I forgot to bring my $1 off coupon, but I bought it anyway. I was mesmerized by the model's lashes and I wanted the same look. The first step was a cinch, but the applicator comb used in the second step was awful. I never had so many spider lashes at one time. I tried to use my mascara comb to comb out the clumps, but it didn't work. I tried it a second time and the same thing. It was awful. Finally, I gave up and went back to Fantastic Lash. It's a good thing I didn't toss Fantastic Lash. Thanks Cover Girl. Loreal what were you thinking. The only thing that's shocking about this product is the number of spider lashes that it produces.
Pros: good masacara if another applicator is used, cool packaging Cons: mascara applicator!
I am a sucker for huge, dramatic lashes, and when I saw the a for this, I knew I had to get it. So I bought mine at my local Walmart for around $12.99. I found that price expensive, but I thought it would be worth it for the great lashes. Boy was I wrong. The primer was great, but when I applied the mascara itself, I had the worst spiderlashes ever! I have tried this product for 2-3 weeks straight and it did not improve. I started using another applicator with the same mascara, and it was just average. AVOID!!!
Pros: Lives up to it's name! Great volume and I was most definitely shocked Cons: It found it on clearance so I hope it has not been discontinued.
When I was little I had this insane habit of pulling at my eyelashes. The result is very short and fine eyelashes as an adult. NOTHING has worked for me. I gave up on mascara completely for over a year...but recently I found the Loreal Volume Shocking mascara at Wal-mart and decided to give it a shot. No pun intended, but I was actually shocked. The waterproof mascara has stayed put completely. I have found myself putting it on even when I'm not going out---just because I am SO happy to finally have lashes again! Obviously I LOVE the stuff!
The Most Horrible Mascara Ever!! by meowluv ,Jan 06 '06
Pros: The base coat brush worked well. Cons: This mascara should be avoided until they change the applicator for the mascara top coat.
I thought this would be a great body-building mascara since my lashes are long but have become skimpy. I have a problem wearing most mascaras since they irritate my contact lenses. The first coat went on fine, although I found it awkward to use the super-short brush. The second coat was an absolute nightmare though - huge black clumps that my eyelash comb couldn't come close to getting rid of. I tried to use a tissue to carefully remove the excess, but no luck. I finally had to wash my eyes off thoroughly, which kind of ticked me off since I had already put my moisturizer on and had to redo it - thankfully I hadn't put my foundation on yet! The mascara applicator is some kind of weird comb that applies it in clumps. I'm going to try to get my money back from the store or the manufacturer on this one!
I usually love L'oreal mascaras so I was excited to give the new Volume Shocking Mascara a try. I have never been so disappointed in a mascara. It gave me clumpy, unnatural, spider lashes!
The mascara brush was horrible, very small and skinny. I have tried lots of different mascaras and this is by far the worst!
Heavy, but definitely dramatic by rose1222 ,Nov 20 '05
Pros: Does really lengthen and volumize Cons: Price, Not waterproof, Still need to separate lashes after applying mascara
I bought this b/c it seemed like such a unique mascara, and I got a $1 off coupon for it in the Sunday paper. I paid a total $9.49 + tax for it, so it was still a bit more expensive than what I'd been used to. The primer brush actually seemed flimsy me - I don't know how much the primer actually does, but I use it anyway. I do like the other mascara comb; though it seems small and flimsy, it did coat my lashes w/ the perfect amount of mascara w/ minimum glooping. After letting it dry, I still had to manually separate my lashes w/ a toothpick to avoid the stuck-together spider lashes look. But after that, my lashes looked great - definitely lengthened and thickened! And the look lasted all day w/o smudging, and I could wash it off easily (therefore, not recommended for a rainy day).
I have short lashes and thought the primer would be great for them. I was right, the primer was great, but the second step was absolutely horrendous. It clumped my eyelashes into about three sections, so it looked like I had less lashes than I actually do (not that I can spare many). How this product made it through testing is the 8th wonder of the world.
