Pros: Great Document management tools. True "collaboration", workflow and approval process is possible to implement. Cons: If application server, there is no cluster and partition functionality.
Summary: I am Notes Administrator/Developer. So my life depends on Lotus Notes right now. Here is my impression about Application server of Lotus Notes.

Pros: Easy to learn and use Cons: Lots to learn for novice like me for the fun stuff I want to create.
