Pros: Works with Win 98SE and my Pentium III 500MHz - just slower Cons: Some trial software expires and requires purchasing.
LOOKING FOR DATA BACKUP NOT MULTIMEDIA EXPERIENCE I was looking for a solution to record data to DVD to free up hard drive space. I was not particularly looking for a media center solution. I figure I can watch DVDs through my TV. My main ...

Pros: Ease of use, includes a blank DVD-R in package, includes Nero 7. Cons: Price is a little higher than other units.

Great for beginners and Amateurs

Pros: Great software, Fast 48x CD/R; 16x DVD/R(max), easy install; 1 free DVD/R
Disc. Cons: A bit slower on older processors. (1 GB processors or slower)
This is my first DVD Burner. I really think that the DVD drive itself is pretty fast and quiet. The DVD drive itself is very fast and is great for viewing DVD's in your DVD capable media software. I really like the Nero software package itself as well. I felt like it was a bit like a watered down version of Avid or Final Cut Pro, yet you don't have to pay the $200 price tag for the free software. It is geared toward those that want to view, compose and edit movie DVD's. The software also allows you to burn CD's and make copies of data on both DVD and CD with ease.
