Pros: Outperforms the iPod Nano on just about every meaningful level, and costs 25% less. Cons: Not compatible with iTunes. Overpriced accessories.
With the introduction of their NWZ-S600 "Walkman" line of digital media players, Sony hasn't exactly put a man on the moon, but they sure have stolen Apple's thunder. All you people out there (like me) who have thus far resisted succumbing to Apple's ...
I bought this unit mainly for use while running, biking, lifting weights, etc. I always use headphones like the Sony sport models, since they are the only ones that stay in my ears while active, so please keep that in mind during this review. I'd say ...
This is my first mp3 player, so I really have nothing to compare it with, other than my expectations. And my expectations weren't so stringent. First, it's small, roughly 2 x 2 1/2 x 1/2 inches, and very light. All good. But the display leaves a lot ...
Pros: I'm too wordy. Can only use 15. Cons: I'm too wordy. Can only use 15.
I got this player for my really slim listening needs. I don't want to carry around my whole music collection and I don't want to be hip. So when I saw this player I got it as it seemed that this was exactly what I needed. Try to load the songs in the ...
Pros: Small and light with good capacity--a very nice MP3 player. Cons: No folders, playlist creation a little hard.
The Clip is a very small MP3 player. I got mine on-sale for $35. I have a much-larger hard drive based player, but I wanted something small, light, and cheap to take to the gym with me. The Clip isn't perfect, but fits the bill quite well. Quite ...
Pros: Tiny size, excellent audio, handy FM radio, inexpensive for 2GB player, firmware updates Cons: Earphones, requires ID3 tagged MP3s.
I bought two of these from Best Buy a month ago for $56 each - one for me and one for my wife - for use while working out. It has exceeded my expectations, although there are a few quirks. After a couple of weeks my wife's would not hold a charge ...
Pros: So easy to use, inexpensive, cute, small, comes in different colors. Cons: Finish seems to scratch fairly easily, battery can drain quickly.
Personally, I never wanted an MP3 player. It never appealed to me to have a little piece of technology constantly attached to me as I walked around so it'd be easier to ignore the world. But as I got older, my resolve weakened and I saved up to buy a ...
Pros: It's small, and it's the epitome of cheap. Cons: Mine was an aggravating, functionless ornament.
Deep in Sandisk headquarters, there is a room of chimps that writes the firmware and software for these budget MP3 players. Literally. Chimpanzees. This is the third Sandisk MP3 player I've come in contact with - the fifth, counting replacements - and ...
Pros: Amazing sound quality, easy to use, bright, easy to read display Cons: None
This is a great little mp3 player. It was on sale for $35 when I got it and it just may be the best $35 I have ever spent. I got it to take with me while walking my dog and I'm so glad I did. The sound quality is amazing, so much better then any mp3 ...
Pros: 2gb capacity, battery life, lightweight, and compact. Cons: No AM tuner, headphones, not MAC compatible, and the buttons click.
One of Sansa's great products. This is a compact 2gb mp3 player with a clip, a voice recorder, and a FM tuner. Sansa has a 8gb version but this device is good for those who want something small and cheap. The style and size is very attractive and ...
folks angry cause there is no XP drivers ain't paying attention, no XP drivers required, XP automatically recognizes it. yeah, the instruction book isn't too instructive, but if you have any tech intuition at all you have this little unit figured out in ...
I bought this November 26 and on December 11 it quit working. Won't turn on, won't charge on the computer, dead. Now there's a little rattling noise when lightly shaken. It was not dropped or hit. This was my first MP3 player and I actually liked it. It had great sound and was faily easy to use after getting used to the thing. I'm just glad that I got the replacement plan. Hopefully the replacement will last longer than 2 1/2 weeks.
Systemic Battery Swelling by dugosdigs ,Dec 05 '07
Pros: Nice Screen Great Sound Cons: Uses same battery as exploding cell phones.
The Archos A404 media player is a good media device for both video and audio, I have been using mine for over a year now, With that being said I do have some issues that should be taken in account when considering to buy this device, the lithium ion battery used in this device has a problem with swelling and if allowed to swell with-out intervention will destroy the device and the data stored on it, the first time it swelled I sent it back to Archos to be repaired as it was still under warranty but lost all the data on the device, this time it swelled I intervened and removed the battery when I noticed the case swelling.
If it is not still in warranty, you are on your own as Archos does not sell the replacement battery, so you will have to purchase from another source. After you load your device up with data make sure you back it up so if it swells you will not lose your data.
Pros: cheap, small, drm free, works well Cons: poor battery life, limited tracks/display
With a decent pair of headphones the sound is quite good. As some other reviewers have mentioned there is no software for the device. The player registers as a standard usb device, drag songs onto it via windows explorer and you're done. Songs will play in the order they were loaded onto the sd card, or you can use the random-play mode or select via track number.
For the price I have no complaints, but I wish they'd included a bigger battery pack. Don't expect more than 4 hours of runtime out of a single AAA. The other problem is that it can only play the first 99 tracks on your sd card, so buying more than a 512mb card is really a bit of a waste.
Great MP3 Player for the price. by mrsconsumer ,Apr 13 '08
Pros: Price, Size, Appearance. Cons: A battery that is not replaceable.
This MP3 player is an excellent entry level MP3 Player. It had excellent sound quality. Mine was Red and the other thing was it's very small, making it easy to store in a small handbag, or pocket. The major thing I didn't realize until now after looking at the package is that the battery is not replaceable.
