Pros: Very very powerful tool in creating and maintaining a website; easy to use; BUENO!!! Cons: Complicated at first look; uploading can be a hassle.
Dreamweaver MX is the latest version of a product who's simple user interface has changed the online world forever. Its been around for quite a while, and with each new update, grows more and more powerful. I was skeptical of the whole...
Pros: Amazing power at your finger tips. Great for the novice or the professional. Cons: Lots or RAM usage, overwhelming at first.
I've been in the web design field on and off now for 4 years. At the current time, its a side job, as the military reserves decided I'd be more use to them as a mechanic than a civilian web designer.
Pros: Built-in reference guides, ability to work on multiple sites, code validator, clean output Cons: Uses a LOT of memory, takes some getting used to
Dreamweaver MX is Macromedia's web development package. To determine a product's worth, I feel that it is necessary to compare it to what else is available on the market. We have Microsoft FrontPage, HotDog Professional, and Macromedia HomeSite. I...
Pros: A WYSIWYG program, lets you make and publish web pages. Cons: WYSIWYG is not always WYSIWYG.
Wow, Dreamweaver. I first met this little puppy about four months ago, at the mid of my senior year. Up until then, in my webmastering class, we had been creating documents in the notepad, then viewing them in the browser. I still love notepad and I...
Pros: Most sophisticated interface and code generation tools for html and javascript. Cons: nits: Search window disappears, unintuitive search, high memory usage, some performance issues.

Pros: easy to use, no html needed Cons: price, can be intimidating to first time users
I'm not an expert at web design, I'm just a student that likes to fiddle with websites in her spare time. The first thing that put me off Dreamweaver was the cost, it was a lot more than I wanted to pay if I wasn't going to be using it on a regular ...
Pros: Everyone can use this. Cons: Has some idiosyncrasies but can be worked around easily.
I design web sites for a living. I use a lot of software and more than a few computers. I use HomeSite 5 as a stand alone html software but also use Macromedia's Studio MX, which contains Dreamweaver and Homesite 5.5. HomeSite 5.5 was added to Dreamweaver after Dreamweaver became popular. Macromedia bought HomeSite from Allaire. Macromedia Dreamweaver is a dynamic software, especially for those who are just starting to build web sites. However if you've been around a long time, you'll want the HomeSite 5 and up as a stand alone even though you can select "code only" in Dreamweaver. Dreamweaver can only be given 5 stars since it is a terrific piece of software, but only with the above caveat for experienced designers.
The Best Web Page Editor By Far by netsite ,Sep 24 '04
Pros: Easy and makes excellent websites. Cons: The website is not the easiest to navigate.
Macromedia.com's software is excellent. I recently purchased the Dreamweaver MX and knew nothing about web design, and just a little bit of HTML. I found a tutorial in the help menu that showed me 'in detail' how to use every single part of this software and I've mastered it in just a week. I know people go to school to learn Dreamweaver for months but I can honestly say you don't need to if you use the tutorial. This software does everything, even corrects mistakes in the source. Images are flawlessly added and links are simple. I highly recommend. As for the website it's a little tricky to find the pricing page, but overall it is very informative and has a lot to offer. Very professional design.
