Pros: Text-to-speech function Cons: Only 1.3 million POI's; sound might be too soft
For my first portable GPS, I got the G

nuvi 200W as a gift, and it was a revelation. It worked so well, and was so great to have that I got another GPS for my husband, the Magellan Maestro 3225 from ...
Pros: Text-to-speech speaks road names, Canadian, Alaskan, Hawaiian & Puerto Rican maps & POI’s, Nice features. Cons: Very awkward road announcements, Spartan POI database.
The Maestro series GPS units are almost always the cheapest sets of navigation computers you can find in your local electronics store. Although most of them do not feature text-to-speech (speaks road names,) this unit is a considerable exception. ...
Pros: Great Value! - text-to-speech, SD card slot, AC charger included. What's not to like? Cons: It didn't improve my gas mileage (but it might just save me a few miles)
This is my first very compact and portable GPS, however, I previously used Microsoft Streets & Trips with GPS on a Laptop on trips, so I am already very familiar with these things. This unit is much more convenient in the car while driving than M-soft ...
Pros: Great unit that is easy to operate. Has built in battery for portability. Cons: Disappointing, price-gouging, opportunistic customer support. Pre-loaded maps are somewhat out of date.

Pros: Pretty much the low price. Cons: Bad directions, Not loud enough, slow to update your position. No warning for upcoming turns.
I bought this for $150 bucks. I am planning a trip to NYC, this thing gave crappy directions from the store to my house, Then rerouted me like 5 miles out of the way. Same thing when I tried another address. The highway is a 5 minute ride away from my house and it sent me to another town to get on it???!!! Also it doesn't really warn you when a turn is coming up. Not very loud either, can barely hear it with the sunroof open.
