Pros: quiet, long battery life Cons: very weak handle
I've had a UM401DW for about 4 years now. I like the fact that it is quiet, lightweight, and the charge lasts long enough for me to mow both the front and the back yards (I have an 8000 sq. foot lot). The mulcher works well, too, as long as the grass...
Pros: clean shape, no maintenance.Quiet Cons: could be wider.
I am going on my sixth season with my Makita cordless and am very happy with it. I use it about an hour a week from spring to fall (I live in NJ). Thats 6 years without having to mess with gas, oil, or tune ups. Still running on orig batteries. Starts everytime and is so quiet my daughter can walk beside me and have a conversation while I cut the grass can cut my lawn early am. or late p.m. without bothering my neighbors. The maximum time it takes to recharge after 70-min use is 4 hours. But most times it is considerably less. It never gets hot and easy on the body (no vibration or loud noise). It runs at full power up to about 70 min then dies of quickly. It does not slowly die off. You get the full power for 70min.It does not suck up rocks and stray balls or toys, and does not make allot of dust when the weather has been dry. IT cuts the grass without the drama. Very simple!
