Pros: beautiful guitar to look at, beautiful sound Cons: the wide neck can discourage playing
This is a review of the Manuel Rodriguez C-3 classical guitar made in Madrid Spain. A lot of people who collect guitars may have an interest in adding an authentic Spanish made classical guitar to their collection like myself or perhaps they have an ...
I cannot recommend this instrument by imnothere ,Dec 07 '04
Pros: Rodriguez guitars look very nice. Cons: Every quality a good guitar should have is missing in
Rodriguez's instruments.
My experience with Rodriguez guitars has been horrible.
Everything that can go wrong with them does go wrong.
I bought it because it looked good in the store, and I
was'nt using my head.
The necks warp on these guitars, the frets come loose
and stick up, they buzz, the tuning gears are cheap garbage, the wood used is green kiln-dried wood and
not aged, the intonation is the worst I've ever
experienced, and their tone is akin to a shoebox
strung with rubber bands. They are beautiful to
look at, but if you want a good guitar instead of
a piece of furniture you'd best look at some other
brands. Any Yamaha, Lucida, Esteve, or even Cordoba
blows Rodriguez's so-called guitars away.
Fender, who is distributing them, is apparently
counting on the ignorance of those unfamiliar with
what a classical or flamenco guitar should be to
pawn off this junk on the public. I say SHAME on them !
Beautiful entry level guitar by liam_mur ,Feb 23 '05
Pros: lovely finish and a sweet melody sound Cons: needs fine tuning alot more than any of my other guitars
The problem these days is that all we ever hear about is fender this and gibson that, which is fine if your talking about acoustic or electric guitars. But please don't make the mistake of mixing brand loyalty with spanish guitars.
I bought my rodriguez c3 about a year ago and its one of the best guitars i have ever owned. The shape and finish of the guitar is the best i've seen.
I admit i'm not an expert on spanish guitars but i have been playing guitars for years.I decided to start playing spanish to learn classical music. The sound that comes fro m this guitar is amazing, everytime i pick it up it surprises me and has kept me learning even when i had my doubts about my own ability and for that i'm very greatfull Mr Rodriguez!!
In response to the review by "ImNotHere".......You OBVIOUSLY either didnt buy a Rodriguez or you got a fake. I own and have played many Rodriguez guitars. C1 and up. They sound OUTSTANDING!!! Many people including flamenco players have commented on how nice the C1 guitar sounds and how well its made.
The necks DO NOT warp, the frets are rock solid, the finish is beautiful and the woods used are first rate.
While a C1 may not sound exactly like a guitar costing thousands it cant be beat for the price.
I play classical and flamenco on mine and its a GREAT guitar, in fact Im planning to buy another one.
