They had me at the Doorman. My new favorite hotel...The Marriott County Hall.

by randfan Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Sep 01 '03
Pros: Wonderful service, unmatched views, plush surroundings
Cons: Priced like the upscale hotel it is
I am a hotel nut. I love to stay in them. I comb the Internet for great deals. I play a game with myself...how great of a place can I get for "X" amount of money. My ultimate goal...the best room in the best hotel for the best price. Usually, I am ...

London, England on the Thames - Location, Location, Location

by smithshop , Feb 13 '09
Pros: Location, Location, Location, Room Size, Pool, Comfy Beds
Cons: Restaurants are pricey, Concierge service weak
We stayed at this five star hotel, in an historic building (County Hall) overlooking Big Ben, for 10 nights as we explored London!  We used a ton of Marriott points to get these nights free - so I had lots of hotels to compare against this ...

Stay for the view

by lstrebler , Dec 03 '02
Pros: Unbeatable views and American-sized rooms
Cons: Expensive and stodgy
We stayed at the Marriott County Hall in November 2002. I chose it because we were traveling with our three-year-old and nine-month-old, and it was one of the few hotels in London with a pool. Also, having stayed in several other parts of the city,...

Imagine this view for 12 consecutive days....

by pennib , Jan 10 '05
Pros: Near Waterloo station. Swimming 'lap' pool and gym available. High speed internet.
Cons: Terrible view if not on Thames-river side. Had to chase-up housekeeping for refills. Overpriced.
I found the hotel adequate for business travel but I would be disappointed to pay their rates as a tourist. Marriott considers this to be a 7-star hotel but I found the rooms on a par with the average Courtyard or Residence Inn. I found I had to ask ...

Nice respite in The City

by cisco_rau , Jul 03 '02
Pros: Great location -- wonderful staff
Cons: Kinda spendy
I stayed at the Marriott County Hall on June 18th and 19th, 2002 for a business trip I took to London and found it to be a really nice experience.

The only problem that I had was finding it at first. The directions I had told me to take the...

Best Hotel in London for Sightseeing!
by travelexpert ,Apr 09 '05
Pros: Exceptional Service and Well maintained
Cons: Sometimes price prohibitive unless you are a "savvy shopper".
If you want to be central to all of London and see all the sights this is the hotel for you! I feel it is one of the cleanest and best run of many hotels in London! Central to all attractions and fun, near the Tower of London Experience(tm) and you could even walk to Buckingham Palace the hotel makes a great spot for your stay. You will find larger modern rooms that are well maintained and a very attentive staff. I say that both honeymoon couples as well as families enjoyed. The hotel is very accessible and offers exceptional opportunities for snacks and shopping within the hotel complex. The bedding and environment make it "the place for the superb night's rest" in London! You will marvel at the size of your bathroom and room!

Not so great stay
by dlchorney ,Oct 16 '03
Pros: location.
Cons: Cost for room.
The locations is exceptional, with a staff the works hard. But, the room had walls that were repaired and unpainted. Local calls cost .99 pounds per minute, which is unbelievable when you pay over 200 pounds for a night. Felt ripped off. hotel lost a fax a received, and never connected calls to my room that they received from my friends, hence, I had to make the calls at .99 pounds per minute. overall, very disappointed with my stay.
