Cons: Hair on the bathtub wall, I was ill during part of my stay

Pros: Its central location, great swimming beach, and upscale design makes this a great choice. Cons: Aggressive timeshare personnel.
The Kauai Marriott is located at Kalapaki Beach, one of the nicest beaches in Kauai. We first vacationed here about 18 months ago. At that time, we spent two weeks on the island over Christmas, and came to the Marriott after spending a week with...
Pros: Surprisingly excellent location, service, value, and concierge. Cons: Not many, food is mediocre, layout a bit cumbersome.
I have been known to be a high maintenance bratboy. The marriott was our first stop on my honeymoon on Kauai; I was expecting a mediocre overall experience, but i was pleasantly surprised and happy to report that the Marriott was well above average on ...
Pros: An uplifting and well equipped property with all of the necessary extras, and it's Hawaii. Cons: Hardly anything, unless rain bothers you. After all, it is Kauai.
I stayed with a friend at the Kauai Beach Resort in Lihue, back in January of 2006. He and his family own a timeshare here, and offered me the chance to experience a Marriott/Hawaiian vacation. Prior to this experience, I had already been to the ...
Pros: good location, nice ambiance, large swimming pool Cons: seems to cater towards the island-hopping crowd; LONG walk to the parking lot
I stayed at the Kauai Marriott for my honeymoon for one week in September. We chose the Marriott because of it's convenient location near the airport, as well as its location halfway between the Poipu Beach area and the North Shore. Overall, the...
Pros: Great luxury hotel, Huge relaxing pool, Great Marriott service Cons: Not cheap, long plane ride- seems longer going home
We liked the Kauai Marriott so much we bought a timeshare there!
First went to Kauai Marriott two years ago as part of Marriott's timeshare sales program. We received a video and brochure and normal sales stuff in advance of the trip so we had some...
Pros: Great pool for all the family to enjoy along with private beach. Cons: Parking lot had limited space.
As a relatively well-traveled adult, I found the Marriott Kauai to be at the top of the list of hotels that I have stayed at world-wide. The entrance to the hotel is totally awe inspiring. It is as though you have stepped into a movie! A long...
Pros: Very centrally located on the island. It is easy to go North or South. Cons: It is not as cushy as some resorts.
My husband and I stayed in the Kauai Marriott in the Spring of 1999. Overall, the experience was fantastic. The hotel beach itself is not the best on the island, but the hotel is centrally located to some really great snorkel spots. The island of...
Pros: Location (on the beach). Cons: Very corporate, non-Hawaii atmosphere and some rooms are 'SEALED' with no balcony/slider or view.
Located adjacent to the airport in Lihue, Kaua'i, expect jet noise during the day from morning to night. The hotel is a very quick 5 minute cab ride from the airport.
Check-in is very Marriott with a corporate feeling and approach. This is a...
Nice big pool, Dukes next door great service food and drinks, location on East shore
Cons: Ongoing planned power outages without notifying customers, Previous parking lot and flood issues
We loved the pool at the Marriott and that it has a Duke's next door, whose staff couldn't be friendlier. It also has a convenient location if you are okay with being near the airport. What we don't like is that they seem to continually have problems ...
Pros: Gorgeous Resort with restful atmosphere away from the usual island crowds, great beach Cons: Claims to be a family resort, ok activities but pretty high end for that
This resort is the most relaxing destination I have ever visited. The resort itself is gorgeous (was told that Westin developed it and then sold it to Marriott for a song after the hurricane (92?)) - Marriott totally cleaned it up and made it a pristine...
Pros: Great hotel, rooms, beach, staff, and pool (little cold). Cons: pool was on the cold side
I went with my wife and 1.5 yr old daughter Dec 2005. We all loved it. Great hotel, rooms, beach, staff, and pool (little cold). The grounds are beautiful.Koi pond was great.
Don't miss the morning Koi feedings.
This is the best location to be on the island.
We like nice things and this place was certainly nice.
Do eat at Dukes.
Do shop at WalMart where you will find the same t-shirts at HiloHattie but a half price.
Pros: beautiful setting Cons: look elsewhere if you plan on using an internet booking facility
This is a very beautiful hotel in a nice setting. The beach is very safe with a sandy shoreline. The water is not rough with very little wave action on shore. Because the hotel beach is located in a harbor the clarity of the water is not what you get in other areas on Kauai. The pool is very large, circular with 5 hot tubs. It was my experience staying at the Marriott that the Hotel Management does not think highly of those of us trying to save a little money by purchasing rooms on line with Price-line or other internet providers. They seem to have a set number of rooms for bargain shoppers. The room was clean and adequate just don't expect a view or windows that open, or management that is accommodating.
