Pros: Great clean channel, ballsy overdrive channel, affordable, LOUD 50 watts, good response from the tube Cons: Volume swells when switching from overdrive to clean, headphone out sounds like crap
It's finally that time. You're playing with a group of people (in your drummer's garage) after all this time practicing by yourself, and you're looking to upgrade from your 10-20 watt, one channel, solid state practice amplifier to something a little...
Pros: Very versatile and reliable with a variety of settings Cons: No midrange tone control on the clean channel
This little combo amp from Marshall has everything I need for practice at home and a small gig amp. Channel switching from clean to overdrive and separate EQ for each channel. It also has a headphone jack which is very handy since i live in a ...
Pros: This amp has a great sound with just about any feature you could want. Cons: Well, It's a bit big, I guess. Your neighbors may not be too thrilled... ;)
I love this amp. I use it with an Epiphone Special Plus II (A rather cheap electric guitar worth about half what the amp itself is worth. It's not really worthy of the AVT50 at all, but anyway...) It's a beautiful piece of equipment with just about...
Pros: Excellent clean channel, Good harmonically rich tones. Cons: Spendy for a hybrid amp, but worth it
I bought this amp about 3 months ago along with a new guitar (which I have now traded in). I love this amp. It can produce almost any sound you can imagine. It gets plenty loud (unless you plan on playing in an outdoor stadium) and it reproduces very , ...
The best little monster you can buy for the money with huge tone and distinction. by bacndblchsbrgr ,Aug 20 '04
Pros: LOUD little sucker for 50 watts. Really durable and excellent tone. Cons: Distortion is too weak for me, footswitch sound swells, no mid controls on clean channel.
This is my amp, my monster, my workhorse, and i've never really had any serious problems w/it. I've played solely on this with my PRS CE22 for about 4 years now. I use a Line 6 distortion modeler and all boss FX pedals for octave, fuzz, chorus, phase, and everything else, and my little baby delivers all these sounds to my ears without a problem in the world. Seriously, it's a darn good little amp for the money. THe only problem i've had w/it is the channel selector sometimes decides to be funny and faze in and out halfway between distortion and clean. But this has only happened once or twice (probably cause of humidity). I get a good sound out of it, though i would recommend, if you're a tone freak and want the best sounds possible (like me, I can't stand crappy distortion) to keep saving past the 4 or 500 dollar mark and shell out the extra grand for a half stack loaded with tubes. It'll be worth it in the long run, trust me. I hope this helped some of you.
Pros: -nice clean channel, loud, great all around amp, very versatile Cons: -footswitch sound
I bought a Marshall AVT50 about three years ago, it was the best choice of my life. When I tried it out in the store it was the best sounding amp I tried out. So I got it.
The clean channel on this amp is amazing. The best part of this amp is the clean channel. The overdrive on this amp is decent but I can't get the tone I want.
The only complaint I have about this amp is the footswitch. This footswitch makes a weird sound when you switch channels. I also don't like how the clean channel distorts at higher volumes. But other than that this amp is amazing.
